Evening,

Short version;

Indicators work, Hazards don't.  When the switch is pressed the relay just buzzes, any ideas?  Switch works, relay works, fuses ok, wiring looks ok.  I have just changed the fan on the heater, so have removed the battery

etc, but all back together.

Longer Version;

Heater control had stopped working on fezzasus heater so swapped for the mechanical version.  Had to run the heater for a trackday without the fan installed and therefore disconnected as during the valve swap I noticed the fan had broken off.  So removed it, replaced with a TS400 from T7 design.   At the trackday I noticed my hazards had stopped working, I checked the fuses and the hazard fuse had blown.  Replaced the fuse and check them, the relay just buzzes.

I have since checked the wiring and it looks ok.  I have checked the voltage and from both fuse 6 and 9 I get 12v.  If I link 9 and 3 the indicators work and switch between 0 and 12v.  When I check the pins on the switch and link between 6 and 3 as if the switch has been activated I only get 7v back on 1, should this not be 12v?  If I link the pins as if the switch was activated the relay buzzes.  I have removed the Hazard relay and checked it, it operates as it should.  I have not managed to get under the dash to check the wiring, but with the indicators working I cannot see it being damaged.  I have taken the switch apart and it looks ok.  If I operate the indicators and then the hazard switch the relay buzzes slightly and then falls silent, no bulb is iluminated.  The same vice versa.

The resistor on the hazards switch measures as 100ohms, the colours indicate either 200 or 300 ohms, I think it is orange (could be red), black, black, black, orange (could be red).  Wiring on the hazard switch looks like the resister is only used when not activated, so not sure how this could affect the hazards.

When installing the cable for the new valve I know I knocked the brake switch, this is all sorted and working now.  Checked harness runs, and indicators, hazards don't seem to go through that area.  All fuses are ok.

Think that's all.  Ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Try spraying some WD40 in the holes on the back of the switch and turn it on/off a few times. It could be a stuck slider.

In other news, I also had the resistor on the back come undone, the light on the hazard switch was not lighting up, but it was otherwise working fine.
