Hi everyone, new owner to be here.

I've just sold my 1965 racing car to settle a few bills and I'm looking at a 2.2 S/C next week that was once owned by Rossco on this forum.

Sounds like its a decent bet as its mechanically and structurally sound, just needs a bit of tidying up externally (just....ha!)

I drove a really nice turbo last weekend, but I like the idea of the progressive power of a supercharger. Getting a boot full of boost in the wet at the Nordschleife doesn't fill me with excitement..!

I've had a good look through the forum and got some good pointers. Hope I'll get to know you all a bit better and meet some of you out on track somewhere

Cheers

Simon

Cheers Strugs. I'm just south of Alton, not too far from you by the looks of it.

A properly mapped, reasonably powered turbo (240bhp) will be smooth and progressive. The problem comes when you get above 250ish, most maps will use a lot of boost which makes the transition quite spikey.

Yep, close by. I'm just up the A31 in Farnham. My Stg 2 SC is not for sale but if you wanted an 'experience' of it to compare and contrast you'd be welcome..
