you have any clear pics of the hinge mechanism? or even better a diagram with dimensions/Pivot Locations?? am looking at doing exactly this shortly :)

Here’s some more pictures, the base hinges are from a BMW F80 M3

Once it’s all finished and proven I’ll remove the clam and get all the cuts tidied up and more than likely all the bracketery fibre glasses into the clam so it’s all one solid piece.

On the subframe side, could you add a brace to that gap where its floating and bolt all the way through, eventually that will bend even tho the bracket is an L shape, the pivot point is quite a distance behind the m8 bolt you have used in the middle.

It doesnt have to be anytging exciting, just a nice piece of 30mm aluminium bar with a M10 hole through it for the bolt.

No Chance of this bending Chris, though I do plan to extend the subframe over the winter before powder coating just so the hinge isn’t hanging off.

Managed to get a bit more done today.....

Coupe mounted to the clam
Left side aero catch fitted
Front catches fitted
Pro alloy gearbox breather fitted
Charger cooler tank removed and inline filler fitted

May I ask here you got that small header tank from? The cylindrical one. I'm looking for something similar for the chargecooling circuit, but can't seem to find something small enough. This looks ideal.

It comes from the original LSJ engine. You find these sometimes on ebay.com

Great, thanks for the offer. I'll see how the Corsa C header tank that I already ordered fits. It was the smallest I could find. If no go, I'll give you a shout.

I’ll bolt the outer ring to the clam which is at the machine shop atm having all the back turned down so it’s flat and so that the filler cap also goes all the way through it if that makes sense? I’ll then just set the filler neck back slightly so the clam can open and shut without taking the cap off. Same as the guy did with the flip clam on the v8 car a few years back
