Jobs to try and complete next week.....

Remove and wrap headers and secondaries
Take diffuser for final adjustments and painting
Fit side catch support bars(being welded)
Fit rear wing support latch(being welded)
Fit filler surround(id being made bigger to allow the filler cap to come through the centre)

That’s most likely all I’ll have time for next week as I go away Friday-Monday

Be sure to cover the top of the GRP diffuser with the reflective foil like the frewall too. Can get quite 'toasty' with the radiated heat from the exhaust in there and it can char/burn GRP or CFP diffusers.

Fire, bad! :o

Bye, Arno.

Sure will Arno, I actually took the exhaust off last night as i'm going to wrap the manifold before road testing the car but will also apply some heat reflective tape to the diffuser and rear clam around the tailpipe.

I fitted the wheel arches last night and worked out how i plan to hold them in place, ordered the materials so hopefully ill have all I need to carry out the first road test and some mapping very shortly.

10months of ownership and I’ve only managed one trackday(the national)! Maybe next year I’ll do more driving than building! And I also hope in the nicest way possible it won’t be visiting Joes house for anything other than good reasons! The cars changed somewhat since I brought it!

So tonight I finally got the car back up and running and actually to a point where I took it out for a very quick drive! All seems ok so far apart from a slipping charger belt which isn’t surprising as it’s the wrong size. I’ll order a new 6pk belt tomorrow.

I’ll do a few miles without the diffuser on just to make sure everything behaves itself first. Then once that’s on its mapping and hopefully start to enjoy the car again for what’s left of this summer.

Absolutely fab work. Almost time to start enjoying it before the winter creeps in. Great thread!

Cheers Max, I’m closely watching you side vent mod as I think it looks great and would certainly suit my car.

I’ve now covered 60 miles in the car today after fitting the correct size charger belt.....doesnt sound a lot of miles but for this car it is lol. I have to say the engine now feels stunning and I haven’t done any mapping yet either. Really looking forward to getting it mapped again now and see where this power is sitting.

Geo and mot at the end of the month along with fresh brake fluid and a roll bar upgrade. Hopefully then book a track day in sept

So below are the first test results. After altering a few settings, I’d forgot to change the boost range setting to suit the new pulley 🙈. Anyway 381bhp and that smooth curve is a great start. Hoping to push it to 410 on this setup once mapped and then a bit more again with the new cams when they finally arrive!

Car feels good, it has a lambda error so need to sort that but where getting there. I had to do the power run in 3rd as even though I have a diff and r888r tyres it was still trying to spin in second. The graph is overplayed with how the car was running with the old exhaust and pulley etc. So a 40bhp gain straight away is pretty promising

probably 3rd gear required due to your reduced final drive (4.17)

Blimey, have you also got a 4.17 gearbox with that setup? you'll get through gears so rapidly? it's acceptable on my car with only 300 ponies, but with your grunt, it may become too hectic?

I hope you are going to track that beasty? let me know when you do, I'd like a Pax ride!

I’ll certainly be tracking it lots!! Hoping I’m at the end of all the issues now. Just need to iron out the mapping and use the bloody thing!

Managed to get some more power last night but I’m still far from finished or happy with it. Patients is what’s required....something I lack with my own projects lol. Chill and Luke have kindly helped by letting me view there maps so I pulled a few bits from each to crest a new base map before putting it on the rollers hopefully later on today with Lees
