Is it on the 2.7 pulley? That will go pretty well with these intake temps... ;-)

Great to see another vx enthusiast putting a serious bit of kit together, I'm jealous and too old for that now, but hopefully get a chance to see it in action on a track day in the future. Hope you get plenty of driving fun from it whether that be road or track.

https://imgur.com/a/p3ok5 Turns out the car fits on my smaller trailer which is great when you just need to transport the car around without any tools/spare wheels etc! Think Ive got some mw50 left at work so should be able to get it on the dyno this week to get a systems check done along with some base mapping

So finally got round to all systems go. 20 miles covered lol! Thats plenty of practice ahead of the sprint on Sunday!! Carried out a power run on the base map. Missing the extra revs my last car had so Ive started on another head setup to free up some rpmss and more than likely some Shetland ponies! List before snet..... Fit new harness bar Fit harnesses Try squeeze in some mapping time Geo Possibly wipe the dust of the car Find my helmet lol Fit new engine mounts(time permitting) .....if not joe and chill said theyd love nothing more than to help for these at the track if I have issues 🤣 https://i.imgur.com/Yq1bSyS.jpg

366 HP at 6500 should get him plodding around. ;)

I love R888s, but only when they are warm!

So Snetterton didnt go at all to plan. We managed to get as far as turn 1 from the pit lane before suffering an engine failure 😔. The day was not lost as a good friend let me share his civic for the day where I took a glass win and I think 11th overall....it was a pretty fun car to drive! Joe and Vocky have now removed the engine from the Vx to find that the engine was not as described when sold to me(Ill add that I dont believe this to be the intention of Jim who sold me the car). The engine in fact has std pistons albeit 86.5mm, it also has about 1mm skimmed of the head!! Basically Vocky believes it was running about 11:1 compression ratio with a Harrop breathing down its neck! Tbh im surprised it lasted the 40miles it did! Clutch has also been slipping and the head is infact std and not ported as it was supposed to be. Heres a few pics of what a hot piston looks like...... https://i.imgur.com/kdGDTWs.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ZfxRDBq.jpg Turns out the motor was built by some guy who has gone pretty much a 99% motor failure record and is no longer on this site or the z22 site! So a new shopping list has been formed and the pressure is on to see if we can make the nationals So the list at present goes like this..... New rods New pistons Gasflow head New head New chain and guides New shells and seals Arp head studs Oversized supertech valves Supertech spring kit Knifedged crank Balance assembly 6 rib alt pulley 6 rib crank pulley Saab sump Possible cam upgrade New exhaust gaskets New helix 6 paddle clutch Quaife lsd Hardtop conversion Bulkhead removal as per Lees....sorry lee Im copying you 😬 Fit roof and paint All needs doing before the nationals if at all possible. If not Ill come and watch everyone else enjoy themselves lol😣😔
