A friend bought her boyfriend a mk1 golf clipper cabriolet as a birthday surprise. I offered to pick it up with the trailer and give it a good clean to make it presentable.
It is a carburetor and has an electric roof. It is poor cosmetically but appears to have seen a lot of spanners and in good mechanical order.
I intended to machine polish it but there was too much broken paint and other blemishes to polish it. So I just washed it, clay bar and ptfe wax.
I did put a lot of effort into the hood though, could not believe how much green sh*t kept coming out. My method:
Snow foam agitated with wheel brush, jet wash.
Sail and canvas cleaner.
Jet wash
1 coat of Renovo restorer
Fabsil waterproofer
Quite pleased with the result despite no polishing.

Looks great!
Wet sand where it's peeling it with 800+ grit to feather the edges, relaquer and sand again going up to 2500 grit and it'll be spot on.

Thanks the reveal was yesterday at a restaurant and he seemed really chuffed with it.
There was almost a fcuk up when he went to start it, I had left it in reverse parked up to a wall! Fortunately didnt lurch far enough.
