National Charity Auction - LOTS LISTED IN THIS POST

*OPEN TO ALL* you don’t need to be attending the National - you can also send me advance bids by PM. Advance bidding will work like eBay; you will only pay an increment over the next highest bid. We will endeavour to keep this thread updated with latest bid levels. At the live auction the auctioneer will take 'bids off the wall' until the advance bid is exceeded (of course, it may not be).

If you are attending the auction you do not need to send me advance bids!

This will be a live auction, held after dinner at the Anchorage Hotel (9.00PM ish) on Saturday 16th June.

*THIS IS NOT A RAFFLE* the donations are too valuable!

I remember a few years ago at the Croft National we auctioned off a few pretty tasty lots which had been donated by some very generous people and companies. It seemed to generate much more cash than the raffle and was much more interesting to be involved in.

So this year we’re doing an auction again. The charity will be The Alex Cripps fund https://www.thebrain...ex-cripps-fund/ in aid of The Brain Tumour Charity.

You can also donate via Alex's Just Giving page https://www.justgivi.../AlexCrippsFund

Alex is CocoPops wife and mother to their two young girls and her journey has been documented by Lee in his “Brain Cancer Sucks” thread http://www.vx220.org...n-cancer-sucks/ . When Lee asked me if we could make Alex’s Fund the beneficiary of auction proceeds, how could I refuse?

So, starting yesterday evening, The Batman and I set to work trying to get items donated for the auction. In just 24hrs the response has been fantastic and we’ve had some fabulous donations from our generous supporters with the promise of plenty more to come.

Below is a list of what we’ve got so far, but please, let’s not stop here.

There are many companies (and individuals) who have benefited commercially from our little community; you know who you are! Don’t be shy...please drop me or The Batman a PM with your donation to the auction.
People aren’t stupid and will know if you haven’t donated anything :P

chinky chinky

The auction will be held on Saturday evening after the track day at the Anchorage Hotel.

**********************************************************

If you’re not attending the National don’t despair, we will be accepting advance bids (by PM to me).  I promise that if your bid is too low, I will beat it. :beat:

**********************************************************

All winning bids will be posted here for full transparency. Payment will be to me or Cocopops via cash, bank transfer or paypal. We will hold the money until the donor has fulfilled their obligations at which point we will transfer to via Just Giving (include gift aid) to Alex’s fund with the lot number noted in the comment.

Can I also add, for full transparency (hopefully not that I should have to) The Alex Cripps fund is a fund that raises money for the Brain Tumour Charity, it is not a fund for us. It will not help us now, but if it helps just one other family stop their wife/mother/loved one dying from this bastard disease then that’s why we are raising money for research in Alex’s name. I will continue to do so even after she passes.

I hope this makes sense, but I wanted to be clear on the destination of the money. https://www.thebrain...ex-cripps-fund/ shows the money raised so far and attributed to the fund, you can even make a donation there directly.

Don't send any missionaries to my door you'll be wasting your time, I already have the Jehovahs witnesses giving me a wide berth after our last doorstep debate (pretty sure the pretty young Scottish one was having second thoughts about creationism by the time they slowly edged themselves back down the drive, not daring to turn their backs  :)

But a toe link kit is no problem, complete with a Hub carrier bolt kit.

What is the closing bid time for non-attendees and will the high bid status be updated before then so non-attendees can bid accordingly?

PM me your bid any time and I’ll do my best to include it.

I wouldn’t pay any attention to the bid status really, it’s just an indication of interest, and I’m struggling to keep them updated.

Like an eBay auction, the high bidder may have bid more than is shown. So, very little point bidding £10 more than the shown amount- just send your best bid.
