FFS not another primer coloured car.

Max i thought you had more taste than this.... youve disapointed me

Those Effing panels you sold me need loads of work, so I thought I'd leave it in primer!

My car always look nice when it comes to you... Do I need to dress tidy too?

Try getting rid of the gnomes you have in your front Garden. That will please the neighbours more & don't keep putting on your Christmas lights every evening!!!

So, I've had a few questions.

The photos on page 1 with my orange door retains the top area & the bottom 60mm of the door, just the middle area tapers back. This option looks equally as good & retains most of the sill threshold. It is probably far less work to tidy up, as the lower area behind the door remains largely unchanged.

The photos on page 2, with the Joey sh1tty black doors, have both the middle & bottom 60mm tapering back. This option will need the sill threshold re-fibre glassing. In both cases, door seals & interior are unaffected. This option is also a bit more awkward as the lower door edge has a double skin which is very rigid and the door skin doesn't want to taper back easily because of it.

Now that Ive seen the above photo of the Audi R8, the lower bottom edge of the door could be retained & a taper from the front of the door to the back air intake incorporated. Looks nice!

I'm more than happy to share good & bad points...

Max

A few more photos.

Bugger me, for years my car's door gaps have been a total joke. I adjusted one door & was amazed how well they can be manipulated. Shimms on the front hinge & the door catch allows loads of adjustment in all directions. The front & rear clams also can be packed out with shimms, so it should look sweet when back together.

Like it.

Reminds me of my childhood supercar posters. Add some slats in Ferrari testarosa style and it’ll be even better!

Update:

WING%20VENT%204_zpshlev3pml.jpg

WING%20VENT%203_zps2z0k8qdp.jpg

I have finally got around to finishing the Side Scoop Dremmel modifications. The wing vents have turned out well at least to my eyes & look both aesthetically pleasing & functional.

WING%20VENT%205_zpsfrfdq0lw.jpg

WING%20VENT%201_zpsoocati2m.jpg

WING%20VENT%208_zpsjgl4bad8.jpg

The Modification works well, retaining the front wing side fixing for the arch & front clam plus the lower wing bolt fixing for the newly formed scoop panel. I will be fitting a new indicator light on the scoop as the existing fixing point could not be retained where I wanted the vent to pierce the wing. Obviously, the wing vent will have fibreglass darts top & bottom plus a grill for the pesky stones that will be thrown up by the wheels.

WING%20VENT%202_zpsdxnsxdjq.jpg

WING%20VENT%201_zpsoocati2m.jpg

I did read several aerodynamic studies & hopefully, this addition will help to vent the air from the wheel arch & also aid air to stay attached along the side & into the side pod. I'm sure someone will be along to tell me otherwise.

I will be grafting on a pronounced sill extension to direct the air away from the rear wheel, similar to the photo below but with a slightly more aggressive flare.

WING%20VENT%209C_zpslxrcvmmg.jpg

Next, mod I will be making is a heavily revised front end, as I want to incorporate air intakes & new lights.

I hope those who contacted me find this last piece of the puzzle useful.

Max
