Hi Jacek,

Would your system work on an Elise 111r?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi

The system should work with any car that has multipoint (no direct) injection. ABS systems are almost all identical (there are just 2 types of wheel speed sensors). I see no reason why it should not work.
Direct injection cars might get suitable hardware next year.

For future discussions please use this topic :  http://www.vx220.org...-racetcs/page-2.

Jacek

That would be an interesting development :)

Hi Martynm,

Ok,
sh*t happens. I guessed there would be some cancellations. I just hope we can make it still worth Jacek’s time flying from Poland for us...

I will work something out for your system, no worries. Will most likely arrange delivery myself as all the items have successfully been delivered to RLM now.

We are all good for that weekend now guys 👍

Tell me about matey, I wasn't best please to say the least, just sorry to mess things around a bit.

Thanks Jon, pm when you need address details etc.

To save time I was going to remove the seat, handbrake cover and rear panel and leave it all at home. This will also give better access all around.

For anyone with limited mechanical knowledge it's fairly easily.

Passenger seat is 4 bolts, one at each corner and the seat belt mount, one bolt.

Rear plastic is plastic screws all easily accessible

Hand brake cover is two screws each side, two grubs on handbrake handle then just slide it off

Any ideas how best to access/remove the front passenger bolt nearest the door?

That looks worth buying.

I assume the only way is to remove the seat and frame together via the 4 bolts, rather than detach the seat from the frame in situ?

Hi,

May I ask why people are taking their handbrake cover/faring off - is it just so the potentiometer can be mounted onto the cover/faring, or is there some other reason?

I ask, as I already have a mounting point for the pot on my DIY dashboard.

Thx.

I may be wrong (often!) but my understanding is that if one requires the handbrake light on the dashboard to show the level of slip, then access to the wiring can be taken direct from the handbrake switch.  This is why the centre cover is removed. The  positioning of the pot can also be put there, but Nev, I can see no reason why it could not be put into your dashboard; also a led to indicate the level of slip may be used instead of the handbrake light.

However, even though I've taken all the fixings out from my back panel, it refuses to move,  I do not want to force it too much and risk splitting  it.

Hi

Handbrake cover needs to go off to have slip indication on handbrake light. If you are fine with a LED somewhere in your DIY dash, then taking this cover is not needed....but i was instructed it is wise to remove it to route the wires under the cover.

Are we agreed the rear plastic bulkhead panel behind the seats that the speakers fit to needs to be removed?

While on the phone to courtenays this morning I mentioned having a RL type traction control system fitted soon,  they said that in the past they have had to remap a number of cars with RL systems due to random cylinder misfire codes being thrown up. and having to map them out to above 9000 RPM

Is this likely to cause issues?

This is the same story as RaceLogic. All of you who haven't yet read the manual, please do :). Better not to have surprises like this one, when it is stated in the manual ;).

Yep, 1.c refers to 'misfire detection'.

For those using OBD-Tuner with their supercharged engine, you just have to select the option on the drop down menu to disable (normally disabled anyway I believe).

Do you know if the Turbo ones have this or no?

If you mean misfire protection, then yes they do.

I am not sure if this will be an issue for everyone with a tubby running the standard ECU/map or not, but a minor tweak to the map should be able to rectify things if it becomes an issue.
