Looking good, how do you get the final bodywork to come together.

I’ve had to order more PVC so I’m Just waiting again. I did however something useful to make a Gurney strip with for the front radiator. Again it’s pvc and it’s an old shower base front panel. It bends really well and will allow a the airflow to exit from the radiator far more easily.

Any ideas on what I should use the front lower grill openings for? Brakes? Internal cold air (I’ve no heater/blower) or Just to redirect it to the wing vent?

Mahoosive chargecooler rads with 25+mm pipework, pierburg/BMW pump and then boost the hell out of it :tt:

Feel free to stack it with some oil cooler rads and feeding the 'waste' air to the brake discs as well though.. :)

Bye, Arno.

I Already have a pro alloy charge cooler rad fitted. I’m hoping my new larger grill opening, contoured air intake with internal deflectors plus a better exit route out, will help keep the water cooler. I do have a small oil cooler fitted, which I may replace with a larger one whilst I’m sorting out the side air intake.

Seems like the only use for the front lower grills Is for Channeling air to the rotors and also into the cabin, which Defo needs it. That said,
I don’t get any brake fade at all now.

Have you ever bought something you thought was a good idea, only to find when it was delivered, that it really wasn’t? Well I bought a pair of Nissan GTR twin rear light clusters without checking dimensions. Flippin hell, they are huge! So, does anyone know the diameter of Exige ones?

They're immense, aren't they? Alfa Mito might work if you don't want to get mugged with the Lotus tax but not sure whether those might need separate reverse and fog lights.

They are enormous! My car is for track use only. I've never driven in fog on track or reversed?

I'll check out the Mito ones, good call!

Darcini fitted the lotus ones to his car.  I think the thread is something like 'wiring LED lights' or similar.

Stand next to a GTR (or park a VX or Elise next to it..) and you'll realise that the whole car is gigantic..

Exige rear lights are the same as all S2 rears. Around 140mm I think.. I have some at home I can measure for you.

Bye, Arno.

Hi Arno,

Yes, it’s a school boy error. All the other parts I’ve spotted on cars in car parks. If a part looks like it could work, I’d get my tape measure out. 😂

Anyway, if you could check, I’d appreciate it.

Will do!

They are an 'oddball' size though compared to 122mm off the shelf round units for campers, busses, lorries and other such vehicles..

Those would probably be the cheapest source to get:

Not cheap but still cheaper than OEM Elise or Exige stuff I imagine and a smarter looking upgrade. Though in your case, you'd probably get away with a set of two and not need four.

It looks nicer with 4 Halo brake lights though! 😍

I agree, that looks the tits, especially in contrast with the dark background.
Is there nothing US spec available, as they love led rings.
And then look for an ali express knock off?

Yeah, there's lots of cheapo "afterburners" for Corvette's (though I think they'll be in the same size league as the GT-R) and other Yankee Doodle muscle cars but those Lotus ones are better looking and better resolved than most.

Elise rear lights (older incandescent or LED doesn't make a difference) are 120mm outer diameter and the bolt holes (M5) are pretty much 100mm apart.

Only the later Elise models (S3) and Evora now use 2 sizes with the outers the 120mm round ones and the inners being a small type for reverse light and such.

Don't know what the diameter of the small ones are.

Bye, Arno.
