If you go when it's dark to the Blue Lagoon apparently it's essentially a sex pond. I'm sure it's lovely but from the stories I heard from my wife when she went there on a hen do I'm not sure I'd get in the water. They had a search light they shone across the pool at various points as well.

They eat pretty much anything so expect to try some unusual stuff, i remember having puffin for lunch one day.

You can see them from Shetland. If you go for the Up Helly Aa festival in January you'll have had quite an adventure but for sure I do fancy Iceland too.

We hired a car & stayed at the Hotel Ranga in Hella and then had a couple of days in Rejkjavic.
Things to do - Hire a car, discover and see things at your own pace. All cars have studded tyres so no problem with road conditions
- 6x6 wheel drive excursion up to the glacier
- Blue Lagoon for the experience but a few other places to take a warm dip
Remember though, at this time of year (we went end Nov 2 years ago) it’s bloody cold, there’s not much daylight and there’s no guarantee that you will see the Northern Lights. We did whilst out on 1 trip and once half way through a meal whilst at the Ranga hotel when the staff announced the activity and kept the food warm. They ask when you check in if you want to be woken during the night should there be any “lights†activity.
Rejkjavic is also expensive where eating & drinking are concerned but an ok place to visit for 2-3 days.

As above, there are some beautiful sights.
Lots of waterfalls and geysers to see.
I really liked: https://guidetoicela...oon-jokulsarlon

😂
I went for a week several years ago. I had a great time. Done all the usual things including hiring 4x4's, powered paragliding, eating seagull, and lounging in hot pools. It isn't cheap, but where is anywhere in Europe or any major city?
The smell of the sulphur took a while to get used to and It was also very cold, so take descent warm clothes. Luckily, I did get to see the northern lights, which was utterly mesmerising.

My wife and I got engaged there, such a beautiful place. Not a great deal to add on what others have said other than to advise you try some traditional Skyr, it's lovely.

Haha, too right. Go and see the Gullfoss waterfall, it's even colder over there.
