Sabine Schmitz has died at the dreadfully young age of 57, she had been fighting cancer for three years.  Always full of fun she was also ferociously quick on track and will be remembered for her Nurburgring BMW M5 circuits and also for her adventures in a Transit Van on Top Gear, you have no idea how fast one can go unless you have seen the film of her lapping the Ring in one.  Larger than life she will be missed.

I did the lady an injustice, she was just 51 years of age.

Genuinely gutted at this, she always seemed to have such a positive outlook on screen, yet a ferocious tenacity when in competition. She lived life to the max, and a reminder to us all to do the same as you never know what is around the corner.
