It appears that the fabric of my soft top has gotten slightly shorter and the front tension wire will not sit entirely in its groove. Backside shows kind of the same, although the gap is in the other side, and the tension wire sits where it is supposed to.

Any experience of whether there is a chance to stretch it back, or how to in another way to get it to sit right?

Thanks!

Søren

Blumin he’ll, never come across that before. Has it been living outside? Too much rain followed by too much sun? How much stretch is in it when it’s wet? A good soaking and a refit. As for those wires, I remember they are a real sod to replace.

I got a line ST from Elise parts several months back, new, fits perfectly.. if you don’t have any luck.

Me too, and the driver side takes a bit of effort to seat too. Sigh.

Mine has also shrunk slightly.  I think it's an age thing rather that waeather etc as mine is never left exposed other than when I'm out and I'm seldom out with the top on.  Also mine was blue and now it's reverted to black despite alwaysa using Renovo 'blue'.

Mine was like this when I bought the car (8 years ago). Fixed by purchasing another soft top. Still have the original in the loft in case there is ever an 'enlarged soft top' post on here! :P

Mine was like this too.  Then the cable at the front snapped.  I got another one (from Liz I think) and when I put that in it really improved the fit.  Still not perfect but a lot better.  And the cable only cost a few quid although it was (as is everything VX related) a PITA to fit.  Took ages and lots of fairy liquid ... and about 2 years before the roof stopped 'foaming' when it got wet!

The cable refit...the worst job ever. It’s the same top for Exige S3 so not looking forward to replacing it.

Well, at least you had better responses than my own post dated the 15th May 2018 covering this exact same topic!

And yes, six years later, its still shrunken. A lot worse than your photos would indicate. Doesn't leak mind.
