Hi there,

I am a new member but have been planning to buy a VX for a few years (I now have one!), over the past few years any question I have ever had regarding a VX has found an answer here.

Looks like forum went down for a while and a couple of years has been lost? Also seems much quieter here compared to a few years back - is that due to the server crash or due to members moving on to other things?

Looking through paper work that came with my car I found some pictures of @vocky fitting a new timing chain and also a piper manifold - is he still around since selling his VX?

Rob

Yep, the server crashed a few months ago and back ups were corrupted so we lost about 3 years, currently in 22/23 catching up....

Also bit of a shame to move to FB, I actively try to avoid it if I can

So does anyone with sense if they familiarise themselves with the highly invasive degree to which the app mines your devices for personal information that's fckuk all to do with them.

That's one reason I don't use the app, only the website.

It's on my main server now so there won't be issues again. It has daily backups to two off site locations with the most recent 10 daily copies kept on a rolling basis :)

I need to sort a SMTP relay is the last main step, time's rather limited currently but I will get it done in the next month or two.
This will allow the notifications and password recovery to operate again.

So, do you now "own" the website?  Is this a good development now for the future.

I always suspected there might be a problem with .org at some stage and to that end I actually have a lot of the back stuff that's of interest to me on hard copy.

I've not owned VX in a long time, it just still sits on my server which shall keep on ticking over :)
I owned it for a few years between Will and the current owner, however it didn't seem an owner was appreciated at the time so it sort of fell down the list of too many projects as a result.

So who owns the forum now?

I'm glad its still up and running, superb source of information. I guess when theres less than a thousand VX's on the road now that also kind of limits user numbers.

I am still seeing ads and can't access the premium section despite my annual fees just being taken. Anyone else?
