Hi,

 

I live in France, and have a friend looking to replace the ignition/steering lock unit for the LHD Opel Speedster 2.2 litre, from 2001.

This was the European version of the VX220.

 

Does anyone have any ideas as to where that might be found please?

This may or may not be true, but....

I read a while ago the unit was the same as a Corsa C / Meriva A, so it would follow that a LHD Corsa or Meriva would have the same parts for a LHD Speedster.


I don't have a parts catalogue to get a reference for this, so you may be a victim of me mis-remembering.

It would make a lot of sense as it seems to use Corsa C indicators switches etc.

 

Definitely look for one around same age though. Newer stuff do use different key designs. I think my 05 Corsa van had an old style key, but the 06 van I also have has one of the keys with the groove up it.
