Does anyone know what the minimum cold cranking amps for the 2.2 is?

I'm thinking of getting one of those mini jump starters as a backup - but the claims of the size of the engines they can turn over seem ambitious.

I don't know the numerical value you are looking for, but from my experience with a 2.2 diesel -remember they have much higher compression ratio than a z22se and are harder to turn over - if the car still has a battery thats not complete dead the packs will be okay for two or three starts.

I did consider, as part of weight reduction, replacing the normal battery with a tiny battery and two jump packs, with a switch between the packs to alternate them to allow charging but it all got too complicated.

Thanks,  I went for one withe the spec:

Starting current 500A, Peak current 1000A (this doesn't make much sense to me)

Starts petrol engines up to 5 litres and diesel engines up to 2.5 litres.

I'll update whether it works should I need to use it.
