Hi folks
Im pretty confused with gaz range of suspensión kits

They offer

GHA
GGA481

Are both monotube?
Are these reliable or still having break issues?
Are they selling more models for vx220?

Regards

I can only speak to the GAZ Gold Pro, but mine are 5 1/2 years old and feel supple, the condition of the body is not crispy and corroded as some others go, and the adjusters still have what i'd call the 'smooth notch' feeling.
The spring height adusters and lock ring all work easily, still.
No leaks and certainly no breaks.

The damper dyno charts that came with them were all pretty consistent.

I like them as they are comfortable enough for me on the road and the adjustment range feels like a range and not just 'stiff-hard-spinal surgery'.
I never track them and i'm quite prepared to believe you get what you pay for on the track with the more expensive ones.

For the price-to-ability i'd buy them again.

Ok
Looking at their comercial catalogue
I guess they reorganized suspension ramge recently (2023), and from now on, gaz gold are the GGA.

I dont know if monotube and double adjusting dampers have model replacement

They do a Gaz Gold Pro II which replaced the GGP1, which replaced the Gaz Nickels. (All were twintubes)

They do a Gaz Monotube (we have our own spec vx220 variant too)

They do a Gaz Twin Adjustable with separately adjustable rebound and bump.

Drop me a PM if you want more info :)

Interesting
How much does the car be lowered with gaz monotubes?

Be mindful if lowering the car that you don't go too much. If you lower the rear too far then the rear wishbones can contact the subframe and lead to them bending. You can also end up with loose springs at full droop unless you get some helper springs to take up the slack. You also move the wishbones out of the optimum operating window. You can get lowering hubs that move the mounting point of the axle so that the car is lower but you maintain their operating arc.

You should be able to search on here and see some of the research that was done into it previously.

Could you post some forum threads speaking about the issues you highlighted?

This thread has some discussion on it.

The short answer is simply slamming the car lower will have other impacts outside of simply 'making it look better'. Given the car is designed to handle well from the get go then you need to consider the changes you make carefully.

I think the lowest you could go is 110 front 120 rear. You will need to check that though with the car and setup given I doubt many of these cars are all original.

I need to measure what mine is as I can't recall but it is low to the point it is a pain using daily around speed bumps. I have the front aluminium hubs on mine. With 205 16inch fronts I get no rubbing with the lowered ride height.

When I change suspension next I will go for either the Gaz monos or the Nitron Club Sports but it will be when the Street Series fail that I change. I am in no hurry. Personally I wouldn't go for the Gaz Gold Pro 2.
