Hi folks. I used to be a member on here, I was 'monstervx220' but could not restart that account as it was linked to an AOL account that I can no longer get access to.
I used to own VX220 DK02XVR, build 1416 I think, a europa blue model with matching hardtop and tan leather interior. I sold the car circa 2004 as it was costing more than my mortgage each month and I couldn't justify it as a 25 year old.
I have searched things like MoT history and the car ran out of MoT in 2019 and is shown as sorn. Its fairly high mileage at 9****, so maybe it has been laid up waiting for work or similar, or worse case, involved in a bump.
I sold it to a chap in London, i've since learned the car has been up to Doncaster and changed hands a few times, but I know very little else. It has been a track toy for someone as I have found pictures of it on-line from a previous owner.
Id love to know how its doing and if there was ever a chance of buying it back, i'd be really interested.
I recently bought back a BMW Z4 Coupe that I had been the owner of in 2008 and sold in 2009. That car like this one, had been laid up for 3 years following a minor bump and never returned to the road. I tracked it down, bought it back and am now restoring it to its former glory, as its 3rd and 6th keeper. This was all done via the usage of forums and Facebook.
I'd love to do similar with my old VX.
