Hi,

I'm had my filler neck off my 2.2l VX220 and wonder which direction the ventilation connection should face when re-fitting. Before I removed the filler neck, the ventilation connection was positioned around 10 o'clock when looking from the right hand side of the car. However, the diagram shown in the link below shows it positioned around 6 o'clock (item 2 on the diagram). My car has a wide body kit on it so the filler neck will have been off before I bought the car and hence may have been re-fitted incorrectly.

assume the filler funnel should be fitted in the correct orientation to ensure the tank ventilation functions correctly when filling the car.

6 o'clock would make more sense as it would also be to catch and drain any drips/spills on the way out.

If someone has moved it so much, how does the hose fit or has that been butchered too ?

Thanks, that is what I thought.

I managed to look at another 2.2l yesterday which looked like the parts list drawing that I linked to in the original post (this had the breather at 6 o'clock). It looks like my filler neck has been significantly shortened (presumably to make it fit when the supercharger or body kit was fitted). The fuel pipes must have been changed at the same time to make the shorter filler fit, so I assume this error crept in at the same time.

Fuel filler neck or design has no baring on a supercharger.

So if there is some odd bodykit, then that sounds likely someone may have messed it up then

Don't worry about that Mussadiqhu, Trump and Musk will soon sort out all the problems in the USA.
