Hi all,
I recently noticed that the security certificate associated with this site is no longer valid.

I also discovered that the secure address of this site (eg https://www.vx220.org.uk) has a redirection to another website.

Hence, if you login to this site, your login details can be intercepted as they're not encrypted.

Perhaps the Admin of this site could investigate and reply?

Been having the same problem for a while.  BitDefender combined with Firefox will not allow connection despite Org being listed among 'exceptions'.  Have to use another browser (Brave) to connect.

Is there any update on this problem? It's quite a serious issue as everyone who logs in is exposed to this.

The Admin should be taking action urgently to fix this.

Thanks Ivor, You're a star.

I'm just very puzzled why the Admin hasn't picked this up already.

Maybe there's a case for having a small subscription to pay a professional to look after the site? There's (was) a lot of valuable reference data on the site.

This has been an issue for some time, at least as long as I have been coming on .org, so 6 years or so, when I have been getting messages to say the website is not secure.

There is a small subscription if you pay for premium ? Should remove ads too unless you have an ad blocker

In layman's terms, what is the risk of the site being not being secure?

Anything you type can be intercepted and replicated. Hence your email address, username and password and any other personal info. Virtually all websites use secure connections, but not this one. It has also been infected with a redirection to a 3rd party website. Basically it's riddled with problems. It needs to be cleaned up and managed properly.

Is it worth finding out how much to host this site elsewhere?

I could possibly host it in AWS. My company has a lot of free credit. Not sure if the current owner wants to though (could always set up a splinter group)

There is a great deal of valuable reference data and pics that's been placed on this site over the years and it would be a disaster if this wasn't looked after properly.

I, for one, would be happy to subscribe to a small annual fee if this was necessary to ensure the site remains available.

It's obvious that the current Admin isn't able to maintain the site, for whatever reason.

Does anyone know who the Administrator is?

Lee Cripps ( at least I think that's his name) knows, is this worth exploring? I also would hate to lose the data that's here, we lost 4 years because the host server wasn't backed up

I've previously explored using a more modern software and the company would port the data over, obviously still need a host server environment ( real or virtual)

Just looked on the premium section, think the chap who runs this is Neil Bowen?
