thought I would post a stupid question. Seem to be doing this at least once a week. Sorry. :( :beat: Ok then..... what, in your opinion, is the best TV ad that has been made to sell a car ?

The new Honda one 'cog' is excellent IMO. Best ever to me was the Audi A4 ad from about 6/7 years ago: "money? NOTHING to be ashamed of !". That was such a kick up the @rse of BMW it was wonderful.... I also liked the RS6 ad with that wierd distrubing music and the black RS6 pulling up to the camera like a skull & crossbones. Worst? The VX legendary pants one, also the new Vectra 'Ed Harris' ones.

There hasn't been a good one for a while. Best of the lot was probably the one for the Renault 5 GT Turbo - The one that had them testing it to 0-60. I'd proably also say the Mini one with them under the mistletoe. This is because (a) I love Minis and (B) I'm a soppy sod. A commendation would also go to Austin Rover's "How to make the perfect car commercial" one. (Metro GTa IIRC.)

5GTT doing a drag against the clock. clock stops 7.2secs IIRC. continuity announcers voice - and that appears to be all for the moment....er....there'll be another advert along in a moment... in the meantime here's some music. Cut to 2 kittens in a basket of wool with test card soundtrack.

One of my all time faves.

Strange VX link - announcers voice was Mr Nylon undies himself (Griff Rhys Jones)

Honda one by a long way. However I have a soft spot for the cute lickle corsa's playing hide and seek. :ph34r:

mine is the peugeot ad where he beats his ??? into a 206. The music does it for me. Apparently the music was "specially commisioned" and unavailable to the public. the song is called 'The Sculptor' by Raja Mushtaq. However, my wife reckons it's in the charts ??

Yip New entry in the uk top 40 this weeks Its called (banggera nights) dont think thats the correct spelling. But that should get you the record if you ask for it. ;)

"bhangra nights", I believe. top tune, and the advert for the 206 is one of my faves...

For me it has to be the Final Cilo "nicole" ad - the graduate wedding scene reconstruction with Vic and Bob. Sheer genius.... the new honda ad is good though. The worst ad has to be the "Shi-ollocks" "Do you Speak Micra" ads at the mo. Nearly as pants as the pants ad itself...

Has to be the new Honda Accord advert. Especially when you realise there is no special effects used to create it, all real life dominos effect type stuff. IIRC took about 4 months to plan and create. Most challenging bits were getting the wheels to roll up hill (weights) and the wipers to walk across the floor. Cool B)

Puma Steve McQueen ad was great! But Honda Accord 'Cog' is by far the best ad on TV at the moment (most recent Honda ones have been pretty good, I liked the Jazz ones), and yes it took 606 takes - you can order a DVD of the making of it by calling Honda UK customer services (may all be gone by now :( ) TT
