I don't agree with JT's comments that Lotus know best and they consider 16 fronts and 17 rears with 165 and 225 widths optimal. Lotus have never fitted them to a 265bhp car with monster torque - certainly not a road car anyway. I agree they may be ideal for sub 200bhp cars. I bet they put bigger on the new esprit whenever that arrives. The weight business is not as important as some think. Increases in grip on a track car could easily "outweigh" it. I'm pretty sure Colin Blower's car has tyres wider than 195/225. If you want to keep the vx's lightness of touch then of course stay away from wide tyres.

...are they running stock calipers?

Yes, only painted ones :o

For me beside a black one B) one of the beautifulest Speedy/VX ever seen. Even if he mounts his real rims ATS DTC with selflightend weight in anthrazit... :)

By the black one I don´t know it for real whether the calipers , but I think so.

barry.....
totally agree with you...

once VX is SO far developed, the "perfect" tyre envelope is obviously falling off the equation...suddenly 215's and such, start to make a lot of sense....

....but pliz....come and test it at the Ring this spring... :D

Yep, defo entered into Hockenheim Tuner Gp just awaiting entry forms and they're ok with the fact that a non German speaker will be competing (first time ever a UK entry has been made :o ) Whatever you could do to spread the word would be great, always like to see how Uk and Euro tuners look at projects. I like the rear diffusers - look a bit similar to ours I think :D The wheels tyres things will go on and on, I'm happy with the sizes as they are proven for all and seem perfectly able to cope with 300 odd bhp, for the GT car Colin had no choice as Dunlop are control tyre and he had to go with the available sizes for Dunlop slicks. thumbsup

If you mean the grey one => Definetly not. Its only one piece and DTM-Styled (The owner is an experienced Race-Man with a long race-history as driver and teammanager and has several connections which allows him to construct single (!) aerodynamic pieces :o )

Ricky I would love to go to the 'ring but doubt it will be this year. I'm getting married and racing an historic formula ford this season so I'm skint! One day though. Maybe next year. I'd love to see your motor. I have a sneaking suspicion it is one of the fastest (on a track) vx/speedy's about. It's not all about horsepower is it?

Looks like a very interesting mod, and the extra intake looks great thumbsup Hard to believe they could squeeze such a big intercooler inside the clam. Must be around 9 litres I'd guess.
