I think this is probably my next mod too so I'll be interested to her your thoughts on how it went. Sorry if this is a dumb question but should I may be wait to see if other tuners come up with anything as I know things are coming and Regal isn't the only solution to na VX220 tuning. Then on to the precat removal......... or even a sports cat B)

I've just got back from the four hour round trip from Regal to get the stage one fitted. Its hard to say what difference it has made yet as I sat in traffic for most of the way and th rest of the time just cruising on the motorway. It definetly feels more responsive and the power seems to be more available at lower revs. Once I've got the feeling back in my right foot I will go out and give it a better test.

Also was the silver vxt with a red soft top one of murkins? It was parked out side Real this morning. Its the first turbo I have seen in the flesh. It was good to be able to compare my silver n/a side by side to see the differences.

Hav'nt noticed any difference from the latest software upgrade.. I also have the full exhaust system which in total with the remap has given an extra 22bhp. The feel above 3000rpm is much more response & power

That sounds like his own demonstrator. When I collected my car (his last demonstartor) from him last week, he said that it's currently giving around 275bhp (!!!!), but since putting on the new Regal sports exhaust, it's rather difficult to drive... He said he was going to get Regal to re-map it again to sort this out - that's probably why it was there.

Lucky b*****d!

Are you saying the remap give no difference at all and it's the exhaust that gave you the extra ooooomph?

Nope - just that i can't really comment on just the stage 1 remap in isolation because the exhaust system was fitted at the same time.

There was however definately a difference in response after the release 7 upgrade was downloaded over the original remap.

I believe that Regal are now on release 11 of the software which has cured the MIL problems but doesn't seem any different in feel to the car over the release 7

Thanks for the clarification ;) I already have the Regal exhaust so I'm hoping to see gains with the remap.

cheers (Probably a really stoopid question but if you already one version of their s/w are the "upgrades" free or cheaper?)

Hi guys just booked in for a remap, KN panel and spark plugs for Tuesday I have a vauxhall sports exhaust- so it will be interesting. I am planning to get it roll roaded at the meet organisded by Thorney. We can then compare the remap plus the regal or the vx sports exhaust! Mani I'll let you on Tuesday!

Colin Yes I am just going for the panel filter- two reasons 1. I went to Prestwold Hall track a couple of weeks back and my car was just about legal I think about 97 at 3/4 throttle and close to the limit at 100 on the drive by when I was pulling away from 2000-3000 revs in third. So after hearing your induction kit- I'm taking it easy on the noise and playing safe with just a panel filter for track days. 2. It will be easier to put back to standard when I viist my dealers! I just hope the remap will be worth it! Mani

Just had a stage 1 remap. I know its early days ...but I have not really noticed much of a difference. A bit dissapointed actually ...but at least its increased the rev limiter such that I can hit 60 in 2nd! I'll give it another week... Wellsey- what about your remap?? Mani ps The real test will be on the rolling rd on the 8th August- I bet theres not going to be a major difference from standard.

Mani, it should be good at the RR day - I'm really interested to see how we compare bhp wise. I have the Regal twin pipe with K&N induction. I'm now wondering about the s/w mod <_< I'm yet to be convinced.

Mani, I'm in the same boat as you. I wanted to notice a real difference but it does not seem to be much of a change. Its also getting harder to remember how it was before the work? I think the power may come a little earlier and the engine may run a bit smoother. I would be interested to hear about your rolling road results.

Hi guys Took the car out for a blast last night; Noticed that the rev limiter is kicking in at 6500 rather than 6800 as Regal promised. They told me that the rev limiter would be set as follows 1st 6800 rpm 2nd 6800 rpm 3rd 6400 rpm I think the standard map is 6200. After the blast last night I am not convinced that the software has made a difference since I still get the dip in power just before 4000 rpm. Secondly regal claim that a stage 1 would give an extra 10bhp-- you would certainly notice this is such a light car! Ian /Wellsey can you confirm what the rev limit is set on yours. Mani
