And also (i am told) not all ecu's behave the same even though they are off the same make & model.be aware that there is a limited amount of remaps you can give the ecu before it won't take anymore-or so i have been told

Manilatest news for all of you who have a regal remap version 11.
Due to the problems with version 11 Regal inform me that they are working on version 12.
They said that it should be out in the next couple of weeks.
I'll keep you updated
Mani
Just had mine put back to v10 & it's much better. Leaves the MIL light on though but Regal are hoping to get the next version shortly which should resolve this & all probs with v11.

Eh?This has confused me since Chris at regal said that I will have to drive atleast 50 miles for the new map to kick in and notice the difference.

IMO ecu only has a learning curve if car is fitted with mods for a few miles afterwards

Hi all...It's a software upgrade. Surely it overwrites the original map and once loaded is available immediately.
Otherwise it would be like installing Microsoft Office on your pc but having the leave the pc running for a couple of days before Word and Excel are available to use.
It's not so easy. If the ECU of the Speedster is like the one on my former Mazda MX-5, at "power up" (i.e. initialization) the ECU use a default map, then it learns how to correct the injection to build a new map, adapted to the motor (in relation with the O2 sensor I guess)...
Only the calculated map uses the motor at its full power...
(on my MX-5, after switching off the battery, the motor was "hesitating" at idle until I drove for a few Km (20 to 30))

Responce is better. I found v11 to be very flat & lacking in response when compared to the previuos version i was running which was v7.Paul,
You say you have been moved back to version 10 and its much better. I take it its more than just the extra revs, Do you feel any more response?
Wellsy
Incidently i still think v7 was better but i guess the only way to be certain is to load the software version by version & put the car on the rollers. Problem is as someone has already mentioned there is a limited number of remaps you can do before the ecu locks you out. Waiting for further testing by regal
