I'm not sure on engine internals, gearbox/clutch and driveshafts will probably start coming into it though.

Excellent work Graph-Boy

:D

I thought it had would break con rods first

I guess what I'm getting at is, whether the engine can be modded to take even more boost safely from the SC or if it would just be 'too' expensive...?

con rods, pistons would do it until 300 BHP, after that, anything can fly away....

Please try and tell us, the engineers at HITEC are trying to stay on the safer side!!

Sam, I have seen the pictures of the new supercharger @ courtenay's yesterday and it looks great. Jon is exited about getting it put on his car and he is going to take me for a blast when it is done, so I will let you know how it sounds and performs. Imnotworthy . I must admit being a lardy turbo owner means I will have to get some more work done to mine to keep up with you on the track. :P There again I have taken off the rear griffen badge so that has got to have helped my power to weight ratio.

Jon, if I come to you for the Hitec SC kit, how long will it take to fit and do you supply a courtesy car? Cheers Doug Oh, and how will it affect the Vaux 3 year warrenty?

Mmmm, this is the only major sticking point for me (apart from the money :D ). Otherwise, I'd have to wait until it ran out - imagine the torture!

Cheers, Paul.

The conversion will take 3/4 days. With regard to warranty, its fair to say that your engine warranty will be void, however we offer a 1 year warrenty on the conversion. thumbsup
The rest of your warrenty depends on how pragmatic or otherwise your dealer is, as it is he who police's the warranty ,after all the fact that you have a supercharger does not make headlamps mist up and seals leak etc. :beat:

Thanks Jon.....and the courtesy car.....? 3/4 days with no transport would be tricky. Do you also reccomend an insurer for your modified cars? chinky chinky Doug

Unfourtunatly we do not have a courtesy car. Sorry :( I will be starting my own car in the next couple of weeks, so the conversion will be available very shortly. :D Adrian Flux seems quite good or so we are told. Our own cars are insured through Norwich union, you would'nt want to pay our premium though . :o

Jon, Just out of interest can you retro fit a Milltek after the conversion or will it need an ECU tweak? Regards, John

That is Marks beast and I don't think we would have the restraint to drive such a machine. ;)

I just noticed courtenay's website started to list this SC conversion!

<>

However, looks like powers down to 215 stage 1, 240 stage2.... Are these figures without full milltek + 98 octane?

Cheers, Paul.

Hartmut (Hitec) and I are fairly settled that the Stage 1 will be 215 bhp, this is on a standard car with a standard exhaust, any additional upgrade to the exhaust components will further increase the power. The calibration should have enough flexibilty to cope with this.

The Stage 2 has a change of pulley for more boost pressure, different injectors and mapping and will include modifications to the exhaust. This is what is being finalised at the moment as we have found issues with back pressure on certain configurations of exhaust and cats.

The quoted power figures are on 98 octane fuel, however they have been tested (albeit with an obvious small reduction in power) on 95 for safety.
