The delta kit that courtney now product is £5500. I'd hope this kit would be cheaper than this?

Hhmmmm the handling finesse for the NA, but also ridiculously fast! Sounds awesome.

Anyone know what the 0-60's might equate to?!?

If someone can let me know the torque figure then I can run it through my simulator.

and courtenay are charging 7950 eu for their current suuupacharger :poke:

If you knew how much time (money) courtenays invested in the supercharger project, you would think that was very good value for money ;) thumbsup

I thought it was the Delta kit that they fit. If so, surely it can't of cost too much money to get set-up.

The supercharger was not the problem, it was the software to run it hence why it has a second ecu thumbsup

HITEC is not using the Delta Kit, but a new setup, which uses many GM parts including a modified Eaton Blower. The art is 50% the mechanical setup and 50% the programming of the electronics. The delta kit uses the original plastic intake, while HITEC is using a new ALU intake, which provides the stability you need to support the blower. Depending on the requested power, HITEC changes the fuel injectors without adding anything or glueing anything to a plastic intake. All in all, very solid.. #2177 (Alexander)

Yep understood. thumbsup

I was just questioning what Whiteboy said about Courtneys time/money spent on setting up the Delta kit, but as he said, and you also stated, it is a lot to do with the electronics. thumbsup

Me now understand. :)

Edit;
Anymore piccys or Video B) would be super. :poke:

Is it just me or is someone somewhere taking the p*ss? You can order a complete, brand new, supercharged GM 2.2 crate engine (same as the n/a 220 plus supercharger) from the states for $3,660 (about £1,900). It puts out over 200bhp on lousy U.S. pump fuel with no mods. Even after freight etc to the UK that has to be the way to go. Griffo

AFAIK they have not even started producing those engines. An advantage with the HITEC combo is the higher output and that the managment of the engine is solved.

The advantage of the crate engine is that u get a brand new product with a GM warranty. I´m not sure how the ECU questions will be solved with this one. But it will prolly fit mechanically.

Or you could by the super charger kit for @ $2500 from the USA, @ £1500 delivered to your door, designed by GM for the z2.2se engine. This is the offical GM super charger kit, sounds like the one being used by Hitec, probably

Yeah BUT will it fit? Designed for this engine, not designed for this car.

Yes the mechanicals will fit (as it says in the first thread - mostly GM parts used), but comes with ecu remap that needs dealer to do - don't know if Tech2 can do it thou  . Was going to buy one, but my current car is a 2.2 vectra and the air con system would have to be removed completely :( and the bonnet slopes down over the intake :( , so chickened out of getting it. When I get my vx220 I will be fitting the GM sc kit :D

I don't mean on the engine, I mean will it fit in the engine bay. Mid engine cars have all sorts of extra things you have to think about.

Couple of points, the 2.0L SC crate engine mentioned before has a GM part number, but has not been shipped for 8 months. availability still open. On top of that it is just a 2.0L engine and HITEC wanted to provide superior performance to the standard turbo. the 2.2L SC Kit does not even have a GM part number and might never come to reality. HITEC is using parts from other engines of the L850 family, which had been launched in the States. I would say that approx. 20 additional small mods have to be done, on top of that the design of the pulley/belt configuration, the electronic program, the intercooler setup... Plenty of room for mistakes, if you do not have extended experience. I am still struggeling to understand, how they could some up with such a low price given the months of work, that they invested. #2177 (Alexander)
