Just one info,

the kit weighs 17-20 kg. That is nothing compared to other mods.

#2177
Alexander

that is the same weight of the delta kit, 20kg all included.
makes little if any difference, being right behind the cockpit...

@Ricky: That is interesting as Hartmut( HITEC) gave me a much bigger number for the DELTA kit. Ok, such is life;-) #2177 Alexander

I was talking to Hartmut about the kit weights this morning. The new kit is 17.2 kilo's. Re the Delta kit he used the shipping weight as a base and Delta claimed this at 32 kilo's which did seem allot to him, however as I pointed out, this included all the exchange componants i.e the inlet manifold, 4 con rods and the adapted bottem pulley. I have a spare Delta kit in stock I will weigh it later without these bits and get back to you. thumbsup

I placed the whole kit on the scale, all electrics included... it was a tad less than 20kg. obvioulsly conrods and manifold don't count, only the add-on parts..

Yes agreed, our delta kit weights this too. Just looking at the power to weight ratio a standard car with the new kit on weighs in at 892 kg at 235 bhp this would have a power to weight ratio of 263 per ton :D What does you car weigh now Ricky?

Ah,

understand, the HITEC kit is 17kg including manifold and all other stuff, this is comparable to a 38kg Deltakit. Those two numbers are the weight of the incoming boxes at HITEC. So at least the HITEC kit is somewhat lighter.

Just FYI, here is a diagramm, showing the enormous boost throughout all RPM areas. The only limiting thing is the rev limiter, it limits the HPS output now to 181kW ~ 245HPS. The drivability seems to be outstanding. Straight lines everywhere. Jon will be able to report on his experience. #2177 Alexander

Hey there,

I'm a former lurker who has just gotten around to registering...

I've been following the hitec supercharger thread with interest and have overlaid the torque graph posted by #2177 over the only other torque graph i could find from a VXT:

>>link<<

On the pic below the red curve is for a std VXT with miltek + airbox and the thin black line is for stage2 courtenay tuning. The thick low res line is from the graph in this thread.

I've tried to match them up as good as i could, but there are probably slight errors :-)

(hope the picture works - this is my 1st post! ;-)

Cheers, Paul.

What you can see is that the chipped turbos have a higher torque, while the drivability of the sc is better as a result of the smooth curve. The power distribution is closer to that one of 3.5L NA. ANother important thing is that the torques does not drop of at 6000 revs, but is limited by the rev limiter in the 5th gear, in lower gears you can keeo the torque up to 6500. Without the rev limit even higher... Easy riding. I am eager to hear about Jon´s impressions. #2177

Sure... And it looks like you've got a lot more torque down at 2000. What did the curve look like below 2000rpm? Cheers, Paul

Although I have not seen it personally, I was told that it continues the trend to about 200Nm at 1500. #2177

Nice. Hows the throttle response compared to the standard NA? I remember reading on this board that the VXT throttle response is a bit "soft", I guess thats due to the turbo. Not sure if the same applies to a supercharger? Cheers, Paul.
