In a similar vein... Every time I will replace the pads I will do the discs aswell.... for the fcuk all time it takes and peanuts it costs why not. When we did mine however (P4cks, redvts and myself) we removed the pads from one without having to remove bottom bolt (caliper slider) and were able to twist it back past the heavily worn discs. However a point to note was that was the caliper I had problems with squeaking noises so it may still have been worth it.... Also for easy of work I would also recommend replacing the lower slider bolt (if it hasn't already been done in the last 2-3yrs) as the head feel like they it has been made out of primula.

sounds like the same method, remove caliper pin, knock outside pad through to centre and remove, remove disc locating bolt, remove disc by pulling caliper for clearance, then remove inside pad. Reassemble in reverse, but use something to just locate inside pads until you get pin back in.
