don't think so, I reckon it would look pretty cool. Saw a new MGTF the other day with big, open wheels and red calipers - I thought it looked quite good, for an MG. Go on, I'll let you be the guinea pig before I try it! :P Do you need special paint?

It would look great :D Nah, you dont need the special paint...thats a rip off. I just used black Hammerite smooth on my calipers about 2 years ago, and the paint has been fine. I painted them, and then used a flat sanding block to remove the paint from the raised lettering to make it stand out :D B)

I think they look miles better in red. I'm going to fetch mine off and send them away to be anodised - don't want to increase the unsprung weight by adding heavy hammerite! :P Not so fond of the air filter intake showing through the side vent. :(

Ok then I'll do it! One of the Type R owners I know has done it to his black CTR, and it looks very good - I shall have words with him, I think he used engine paint (ie heat resistant).... I shall keep you posted.... TT PS I'll obviously need to take the wheels off, and luckily my mate has a trolley jack - where should I be jacking it from??

Be careful!

Do a search using "jacking" and set to "any date" for all the info about this on the forum. :)

Dont worry about the heat. Hammerite is more than good enough. If you burn Hammerite off, you'll have some much bigger problems than peeling paint!!!
