Why don’t we approach him with what we think is a sensible figure for a bulk buy ? We can only be told no

I had a good look at some lambo style door's at autosport today, if the vx220 door's are anything like those I'd leave well alone, they are nothing special design wise and are very flimsy, they also did not work in the same way a proper lambo door does.

I've never seen one priced well for what they are to be honest, but I'd be quite happy to eat my hat if this guy proved me wrong. Till then they look like any other I've seen and over priced. :(

I like the idea, but agree that they are really flimsy. All you need is a mate to get out the car and lean on the door while its open by accident. It would twist and bend so much of the metal work, i even think a strong gust of wind would put them out of line. These maybe built much better then all the ones i've seen.

Why not just get a Lambo hinge for the drivers side only? One that can open normally as well as lift up in a tight position. Steve

I know I shouldn't be reading Max Power but every now and again I can't resist.I have looked at old copies to find the dealer who is supplying Lambo door hinges. Its MSI on08702 412382 or msionline.co.uk and in the mag he is quoting £1069! Could be more because they say they make it to individual cars. Hope this helps to get out while in the garage.

Hi :) we have connections to kw-System which own lsd. You can kick it :( First our market is too small and second the hinges must mounted right on the chassi :( and they don´t seemed to be heavy constructed even if we have all a very light door in opposite of the sedans... The hinges of dadde have the one and only opportunity that one can change between stock and lambostyled doors as you want to and this cause they were only for this constructed. I will check them in the next 2-3 weeks and will fix it on video. So everyone can see (me and myself too ;) ) whether they were good or not. Have you already an answer for a bulk buy or should I contact him twice? Regards Don

Just searched and found this old thread... I'm very keen to have quality gullwing doors, has this topic progressed, has anyone bought any? My questions would be how much does it weigh approx, how strong is it when raised, does it make it easier or harder to slide in and sit down?

Guys. If you are interested i have a pair ot thses LSD on order from Germany... And if you think it's expensive for you consider this.. I did my research into the available LSD's and having a conversion that can be put back to standard without big holes in the body work i selected the 'Koppold Metalltechnik' modification. I live in New Zealand (The far end of the world) and not wanting to live with my car without doors for months while the hinges were being sent to Germany for Modification i bought a pair of spare ones on eBay from a scrap yard in the UK. Next i got them delivered to Germany via Royal Mail. (You don't whant to know how much postage cost's) They have now modified them and i am currently awaiting delivery... (again at the cost i paid i think they will be hand delivered.) When they get here i will then have import Tax to pay... gulp.!!!!! I have a contact there at 'Koppold Metalltechnik GmbH' who modify and produce the kit and he speaks / emails in good english. If your interested in a contact drop me a PM and i'll give you his contact details... I will document the whole conversion process when they are here for your information... Who said looking cool is cheep...???? chinky chinky
