I live in New Zealand (The far end of the world)

You have a VX in New Zealand!? Imnotworthy

There must be some awesome roads there.

Whereabouts are you? >vX220s around the world here<

Yep Great roads and (the curse of civilization) lot’s of hungry cops with speed traps intent on make the roads safer for us all by enforcing a 100kph speed limit.

But to answer your other question – Auckland, or to be more precise 10 mins north of Auckland over the Harbour bridge.

Note – My door kit arrived three days ago and I am itching to start the conversion. The machining is very good, and all that holds me back was my camera (which I left in the office) to document the conversion and a willing helper to lift the door. This week it should all come together…

I will dig some out and post them on my web site.. :-) Like must of us, you get used to the sights after awhile and forget the uniqueness of the country you live in. I have only been here 7 years, but already i take our sights for granted.

Meanwhile i must weigh the new door hinges before i forget so i can answer the weight questions, i am just itching to start the door conversion.. :jump:

I just came to think about leaving the car with the top off in a country where there are big spiders / scorpions etc :o :o what a shock to have one crawl up your arm at the highway   Do you have any of those over there or are they only in Australia? ;)

Ha - ha.... That's Australia for you.. there's nothing nasty over here, although i hear the sand flies down south get a tad on the large side. It very tame here, which was one of the reasons i emigrated down here, but it does not suit everybody. Choice is limited, and if you have anything different getting parts shipped works out expensive. But a great place for a holiday if you like nature and sport. chinky chinky

i was really looking into the lsd doors, but i went to their website after seeing the kit in halfords. i knew that tms sell the kit and fir it so i was assured that it would be ok. but on the website they do seems to shake around in the hinge quite a bit on their example videos. for the money i would expect it to be ultra smooth and very very slick.

I used the lambo style doors on the show car at T M S, they opened and closed nicley, glided, really easy to use, although I wondered what would happen if someone leaned against them whilst open, they feel less strudy than normal doors as you move them, like they wont take any abuse or roughness, but that's only my perception because they were so light and easy to move. Anyway on the TMS car they would have been opened and closed many times, but they were sound. Thanks to Thorney for letting me try them :) PS It would be interesting to operate a real lamboughini door to see how they "feel" and compare the aftermaket version. Unfortunatley I've only been in a Gallardo :( Anyome experienced opening a real Lambo door?

Sorry for the delay, it's summer holidays down here and a 100 & 1 other things to do... :beat:

Well the Speedster has both doors converted (took about 4 hours / side) and i have taken all the pictures. I will update my website over the coming week to finish documenting the whole process. Any questions feel free to ask, but it was simple as... and (IMHO) well worth the money for a 'bolt on kit'. The quality of workmanship and ease of installation is second to none.
