Ding bengie - its still plug and play EDS software (german company) iirc On the ZLET forum, someone was commenting that you post them your ECU, they flash it and then send it back same day. They dont have the best reputation either - i was at santa pod and chatting to a guy in a regal stand car(not a regal person), "stage 4 calibra turbo", quoting 360bhp! :o Expected him to rip the tarmac up - he did a 15.6 thumbsdown Stick with AMD or Courtenay thumbsup

Phase 1 – Gains to 234bhp and 274ftlb torque. The NEW enchanced Phase I Kit now includes Iridium Spark plugs and a K&N Panel Filter After fitting and testing phase I the throttle response is made more sensitive with power commencing early at just over 2000 rpm and staying constant and strong up to 7000 rpm with no flat spots. The software is written in a way so that 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th have progressive boost with 5th gear achieving 0.9 bar maximum. This keeps the gear box service life healthly and quick 1st and 2nd gear changes are achieved with minimum amount of wheel slip. The anti skid control is also altered making is less aggressive in controlling the engine and more progressive again achieving healthy transmission and drive change components. The car is extremely fun to drive and very lively with lots of pulling power i.e. at 6,600 revs in 5th gear 160 mph is achieved The Phase I Kit now includes Iridium Spark plugs and a K&N Panel Filter (8430) (vx550) Price £680.00 Normal price £680

on a N/A, upping the rev limit will give you a nice "NOTHING" :P  unless performance cams are installed and proper intake/exhaust work performed...

Good job I have a Stage 3 AMD then isn't it ;)

Cheeky/others

I'm considering the turbo deal so....

Honest oppinion then for the Turbo - what should I expect?

Is the quote from Regal a load of ******* or is the quote correct?

Bear in mind I know little about this kind of stuff.

Thanks

Dave

[QUOTE]Stage one tune

Original BHP 201.7 (pretty good)
Original Torque 217.8 lb ft (very good)

Stage one BHP 240.6 (WOW)
Stage one Torque 270.4 lb ft (BLIMEY)

What differences have you noticed? Was it tailored to your car? What are the increases in power/torque? Feel free to answer these questions as quickly as possible :D Steve

I wouldnt take my car to Regal if there service was free. They are pants!!!! I have had so many bad experiences with them ive lost count, lots of my friends have also had massive trouble with them. It doesnt hekp that chris is just plain rude 99% of the time. When i was looking to buy a vx turbo last year i test drove one that had there exhaust system, air filter, dump valve and re map and i was really really unimpressed. It felt the same as some of the std ones i had driven. I've never seen a fast regal car, the black nova is fast, but then it bloody should be with 2 x 16v turbo blocks in it. Any skilled person could build the same car. The 2.97 0-60 they quote was done on the random number generator at trax. Use courtney or amd. I'm going to amd tomorrow for a re map. So far i havent had bad service from either, apart from i find amd always go for the hard sell on miltek exhausts. Thats for any car not just vx's.

The main reason for going to Regal was the car already has their exhaust system etc on it so it made sence for them to finish the job. The car has a much better feel to it there is much more torque low down and the rev limit has been taken up to 7250 which allows you to use your right foot hard without hitting the limiter. I spent over half an hour in the shop while waiting for the job to be done and found both Chris and Jackie friendly and chatty the only real let down was the continuous flow of chav'ed up astras and novas using the shop.

Hmmm, I saw it there on the 0-60 run and it wasn't a random number they came up with!! :D :D :D :D :beat:

0-60 test on a dyno? If so, then it's not exactly real world conditions! It's so that you can go to the pub and tell your mates it does 0-mach 3 in 0.7 seconds while the rest stand at the bar ejaculating into their pint glass.

Eerrr, no, it was done at Trax and on my Charity day (3 runs actually) against a 700BHP Skyline - but s1oww wouldn't have seen that :P :P :P
