For those of you who didn't read my last post - I'm having difficulties with the other half at the moment. She is being very difficult and turning into her mother. Anyway things were getting better until last night. Obviously it was Valentines day, money is a little tight this month(Exhaust is coming) so I opted for cooking a meal-in. Turned up at her house with a massive bunch of flowers, Bottle of wine, ingredients for a swish, slap up meal, Wimbldon on DVD(Soppy movie!). Anyway, the first thing she said was - "where's my card?" She then got in a major strop about not having that. Then I told her that I would be cooking and we wouldn't be going out. She went crazy!!! :beat: Needless to say I walked out on her, she came chasing after me but I told her " I've never met anyone so f@cking ungrateful in my life!!!! :9mm: and drove off!! Was I in the wrong to do this?

If it's any consolation I think I would have done the same thing thumbsup I don't see what the big thing is with valentines day. Why should I be told when I should treat the other half to something special. We treat each other to meals, trips away etc all year round. It seems stupid we're expected to be nice on a specific day. I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's a load of commercial bollocks :beat: She obviously doesn't appreciate you, what special things did she do for you on valentines day?

I told mine not to do anything special. I'd rather he did something cos he meant it, not cos he felt pressurised. The fact he drove me on a 200mile round trip to buy a car yesterday was a pretty nice gesture I thought! B)

Could you have been any less wrong?

As detailed in one of my replies to your last post I've also been having 'other half' problems and only got her a card, and let the rest of the day be, made no more effort. She desperately wants us to go away together to Japan (I can't wait to go back) but she appreciates how much time I'm willing to put this off for in order to work on the relationship.

If she was worth it she'd be able to see it from your side too, but is clearly just thinking that she should get exactly what the media/ advertising tells a woman to expect from valentines day.

Makes me

Needless to say I walked out on her, she came chasing after me but I told her
" I've never met anyone so f@cking ungrateful in my life!!!! 9mm.gif and drove off!!

Good work that man! thumbsup

Nope, but I do wonder what was going through her mind that everything became such a big deal for her...

Anyhow - no idea how long you've been seeing each other, but I'd be looking elsewhere. ;)
