Dunno if this is the right place to post this.
Ran my new TIS discs and the installation hung halfway through and I had to abort.

Now it won't run (autoplay). If I try the Mainisntall it goes so far and get the message TIS is now running. Please stop first all TIS 2000 components. 3 hours of fckuking about with the computer including a brush with the blue screen of death and near system crash :o and it still don't work.:(

Any suggestions anyone? :(

Thanks

Eric

What OS? If XP, can you do a system restore back to before the first time you tried to install it, and try it again?

If you've got firewall and/or virus protection try turning it off before running the TIS cd. I had all sorts of problems getting my disc to run until I did this. thumbsup

This issue isn't with TIS. It's with Millenium Edition...it's sh*t! I actually went back to '98 from ME!

been having this fun at work this week - if all else fails try this.... Remove as much as possible through add/remove programs, once its out of there go to program files and look for folder called 'cosids' delete everything from here and the folder itself....... Create a folder on the desktop, copy all the info from the Cosids folder on DISC1 into the folder on the desktop - then remove the cd. Go into the folder on the desktop and run the main install file - it should not start to install (it could still say 'tis is still running') - it will get halfway then ask you to install disc 2 - put disc 2 in, and again copy all the info within the Cosids folder to the folder on the desktop, once its all there, click ok on the Tis installation, and that will carry it on...... and bobs your uncle......hopefully..... we've had this issue so many times it silly, just found this way to work best at work...... running 98, 2000 and ME on different systems.... try that thumbsup

Jim, I agree Millenium is $h!te and have actually done this myself in the past and stayed with 98 until the eventual inevitable crash. :o For some reason this time ME has remained stable for a very long time, but I'm not holding my breath :(

Create a folder on your desktop called TIS2000 and copy the contents from CD1 to this folder. Then copy the files from CD2 to this same folder.
When this is all done run AUTORUN.EXE from the TIS2000 folder.

Install the TIS program to C:\cosids and during setup choose the following options, (not sure if these are in order) Vauxhall, Standalone, COM1 (Twice I think).
Leave everything else as is.

Try this!

Just as I thought we had sorted TIS in my office, once again it all goes to Sh*t haha!! Never try and install wiring diagrams to TIS unless you want to spend the rest of your life working out what to do next!!!! Its now frozen TIS completely which is just rubbish and its not coming back at all!! - wont even let me boot from folder on teh desktop, just says its not suitable for windows/dos   Ah well, got the April 2005 update here, lets see if they ironed out the bugs this time

OK, trying to install on XP, I get the following error whether I try to install from the CD or copy onto the hard drive and install from there. Any ideas?
