I bought the 2.0l supercharged engine from USA.
But it is still on his way to germany.
I hope it won´t get lost on his sea journey to europe.

In the end of July I will start work on the engine, and than we will see what has to be done to fit the engine in the Speedster/VX.

What he did AFAIK was to order the standard Courtenay 5,6 kg fw but with 8 holes drilled in it thumbsup

Could be easier to take the 2.0sc as donnor, but the 2.0 SC as used engine is much cheaper than the Hitec Supercharger kit, and I can´t do the electronic works to run the SC setup on the standard 2.2 engine. And if it is possible to run the whole 2.0SC setup in the speedster/vx220 than I will try it, and with a small increase of the blower pressure from 12 to 15psi it will also be good for 260hp at the crank. Most of the Ions , the car where the engine was taken out, have messured close to 200hp at the wheels, this engine is definitly underrated. GM says 205hp at 5400 at the crank, but the tourqe stays high close to the limiter at 6500rpm thats the reason why this engine has nearly 20% more power than claimend, or perhaps the limiter can be raised, also a way to gain more power.

Even better than that, i heard that the SC is dumping boost at high revs (something about GM not testing that level of boost in thier reliability test, so rather than re-do the test, just clamp the boost to something they had tested). So if you can change the map, you'll have even more power!

However, i don't think the ECU has been cracked yet? By anyone...

Cheers, Paul.

The GM number for the 2.2 SC kit exists since 2003 but you can´t still not order it and no one knows when it will be realised. Which clutch have they used with the courtenay FW? And yes the ECU has not been cracked yet.

HPTuners are promising software later this year for Ecotec ECU programming.

Highly speculative proof:

:D

Note the bhp clamp at 5600rpm...

I heard somewhere that it maxs out at 12 PSI and the boost level is restricted via an electronic blow off valve. Hence you will need to either replace the BOV + Management or reprogram the ECU

thumbsup That looks BAD-licious So if one acquires the clutch plate from Courtney one can drop the 2.0 SC plant straight into the VX and more or less turn the key?

Theres the small matter of all the wiring and the ECU being totally different... :o

Isn't that valve the thing which legitimately dumps unwanted boost off throttle, though?

Has anyone e-mailed that company to find out whether they can get the Supercharger for the 2.2?

I received this reply today:

"Thank you for visiting the Performance Parts website.

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the 2.2L Supercharger kit, part number
17800003 that you are looking for. Upon searching our system, we found
that you were one digit short of the part number. We found that this 2.2L
Supercharger kit is available as a special order through your dealership.
They can also advise you on pricing as well.

To locate a dealer, please access the locator within our website at
www.gmgoodwrench.com. We hope that this information helps."

So its available now/very soon in the states.... :o

Just have to hope that it still contains all the intercooler coils so we can attach one (it doesn't come with one).

Cheers, Paul.

I'm going to wait a bit to see how things turn out (price, features, intercooler bits). Then if all seems good i will probably order one!

Cheers, Paul.

What is the correct part number then? Does that mean you could get a quote from a VX dealer in the UK?

Its 17800003 - i had 1780003 (one less zero).

This still doesn't show up on any GM website yet - its too new. I've asked about availability in the UK...

Cheers, Paul.

I can recomend changeing the ECU and engine wireing system to NIRA i3, then you have control of everything!
Badster is using i3. And it was easy to tune!

http://www.niramotor...eng&subpage=all

I have also done a "electrical diagram" to connect i3 to the vehicle harnes on the speedster

Whoa, dude! :D Pretty cool....

However, does nira work with the GM LSJ engine as well as the SAAB L850 ?

Cheers, Paul.
