I have been looking through prior posts and it seems Mintex M1144 seem to be regarded as pretty decent replacement pads. Have looked around and found this place, which seems to be well priced:

http://www.azmotors....c11e5bffcfa1df7

Anyone had any dealings with these people?

Also, I'm probably not using the search function right, but will these pads fit straight in? The numbers I have for them are MBD1890 and MBD1891.

Thanks for any help given.

43 quid for a complete set of pads? That's astonishingly cheap isn't it? Would be very interested if someone in the know could confirm they're the correct ones...

Excerpt from http://www.elises.co...ents/s1/brakes/

Lotus are currently using Brembo brake pads on the Elise and some owners of newer cars have found the brakes to be poor. This is due to the varied compunds used on different cars. Mintex produce reasonably priced replacement pads and the hard road/race compound is recommended. Motobuild sell Mintex 1144 pads and they are £84 + VAT per set for front pads and £76 + VAT per rear set for rear pads. The Mintex part numbers are MDB1890 for the front set and MDB1891 for the rear set.

Looks like you found a bargain thumbsup

Thanks for that, thought they looked a little cheap to be M1144's. Could have sworn I'd read that they were on the site somewhere, but can't find it now so irrelevant. I'm not concerned with price, but everyone likes a bargin. :)

Received my order from azmotor today. Manufactured by TMD Friction and have Mintex M1144 on the box. Box says for Lotus Elise 96 - but it matches the part number mintex give on their website for the VX220. Ill fit them and see what they're like and post back. £53 all in with next day delivery

If they're in a Mintex M1144 box and have the same part numbers, they must be 1144s, surely...

Shurely shome mishtake

If they are proper 1144s then great but I'm a bit suspicious, unless someone has made a pricing boo boo at their end

Just bought some too. The azmototors product number is 5733 MDB1890M5734. MSB1890 is definately the correct part number for Mintex M1144 for the VX so it must be correct unless they've screwed up which is mis-representation!

Ozzig - are you sure about that picture? Never seen VX pads with the little 'Wings' either side? My current pads look more like this:

For those who have already had these delivered, are they the right ones??????? I'll need pads soon so I'd place an order straight away and haven't got spare cash to be making a mishtake :D

Like Smiler said they are Mintex, but if I'm reading the box right, they are M1109 's.
