Just thought I would send a quick post on the shower cap I bought from John through this website. My VX is parked up on the drive all week and only really gets driven at the weekends. There are a number of trees close by which give off a very sticky substance that clings to the car and is seeminly impossible to completely remove. This doesn't create a problem for the body work, which always looks fine after a good wash, but is a problem for the windscreen, because it causes smearing when you use the wipers. I wanted to get a cover to deal with this, but knowing myself decided I would probably get tired of pulling a full size cover on and off. Instead, I decided to go for the shower cap. It arrived after a very short wait and it really very well made. The stiching seems good everywhere and it fits perfectly. I posted a while ago to say that there was no hole for the aerial, but John explained that there had been a few supplier issues and suggested removing the aerial before fitting the cover. He said that if I wan't happy with that, I could return the cover and he would sort it out. I was about to send it back, but thought I'd try out detaching the aerial. It's actually dead easy and whist the fitting is metal to metal, the aerial fully tightens as the rubber covering the aerial meets the rubber on the base, so you get a very tight join. I get the feeling that you could take the aerial off an on many many times without risking the assembly getting loose. The heavy rain over the last few days has really made up my mind that I prefer the cover without the hole. Taking the aerial off it so quick, it's just a minor addition to the usual tasks of removing the stereo etc. and has the advantage that water can't get in at this point. I would definitely recommend the cover to anyone who wants to keep tree crap off their windscreen or perhaps sun in the summer. thumbsup

I agree the cap is very well made and quick to put on and take off. Mine has no hole but I've just been leaving the aerial on - there isnt much pressure on it as it only bends very slightly and as soon as you take the cap off it staightens back up. Spose If I left it on for a long time I'd take the aerial off.
