When was the last time you read a newbie introduction which said?...
'Hi, my name is John and I've just bought/am planning to buy a VX220. My plans for the car are to get the Geo checked as I know this is VERY important on the VX, following this I'm going to check the suspension as all my SEARCHES show that the standard units are pretty shot after 40K miles. after this I'm going to get the tie rods looked at and maybe replace the suspension bushes with poly items to make sure the car continues to perform like Lotus intended. I'll then consider looking at improving the comedy headlights and heater and get a good service on the engine.
Once my VX is ready I'm then going to get some driving/track tuition as I've not had much experiance with powerfull RWD cars and I don't wan't to end up in a ditch like many newbies.'
Sadly however, most newbie posts now read something like...
'Yo dudes, my name is Corsacliowikidboy and i just got a vx and stuff. my plans are to slam the car to the floor, fit some wheel spacers and a big stereo along wiv a fooking big sub in a home made B&Q mdf box, after this i'm going to put some sticky back plastic on the lights so my vx looks like a half pissed fly, i'm then going to paint my wheels every colour in the halfords range (except silver)
look forward to meeting you all at the next maccy d's meet dudes.'
