Flat-pack things which are missing a part, except it's the final part, and the company will only exchange the whole product - and the old item must be in its original box :angry2:

Professor Brian Cox, to be honest seems a perfectly nice chap, but for some reason really REALLY gets on my tits.

:yeahthat: :9mm:

I think it's his voice...he just has a naturally patronising tone.

Auto wipers. God they are bloody shit. Talk about a downgrade. I thought hey were crap on our 206 and put that down to it being a few years old and french. Nope, brand new Golf and they are bloody awful, hateful, useless things. Worse than that, there is no other intermittent option, its auto or you can piss off. Here is how it goes: Usually use wipers on constant, rain or spray starts to abait a little, switch to auto, wait...wait, right now would be a good time, wait a bit more, and suddenly, the fucking thing has caught on that it might be a good idea to get going, so goes into high speed mode. for one wipe. and we play the game again, wait... etc etc. The Golf thinks its smart because it can do intermittent but also vary the speed, i'd say there were around 4 different speeds. you can vary the sensitivity but that just confuses it more and makes the world's shittest, useless, system even worse. the othe great thing it does, is that sometimes, very very rarely, it goes into constant wipe, the same setting as one click further. this makes me forget that i'm in the stupid auto mode. Then something happens, i don't know what, maybe the system gets scared by a spider, or it sees a ghost, but with seemingly no change what so ever in the rain, it decides, it needs to go as fast as it can, so fast infact, that it is now wiping a pretty much dry screen. The result is, that in 2012, in a £28k car, i'm having to do the same as in 1998 in my first car, a £450 MkII fiesta which didn't even have intermittent wipers. Yep, i DIY. press the lever down. wait a bit. press the level down. wait a bit. Not so long ago, someone had a really bright idea, how about we give drivers ajustable time on their intermittent wiper. 1 second to 10 seconds. And it worked perfectly. auto wipers, my number one for room 101.
