I'm glad someone else understands :( It really is miserable, isn't it? This is such a lovely flat, and I really thought I'd be happy here. Your situation sounded horrible; how long were you there for?

Aside from respect/conscience blah, I can't say anything because my cat has to use her land (I didn't know she owned it, until after I moved in); so I'm scared what she'll do to my cat (I've already seen her shooing a neighbour's cat out of the garden, and my cat is really timid and gets scared easily), or that she'll say that my cat can't come out anymore. So I have to keep it bottled up :(

Not a good situation to be in, I remember it well, try getting her on side in some way, being nice in general rather than shying away from her, it may be that she just doesn't trust you yet, I had other issues with my flat aside from the old dear downstairs to be honest, the management fees being the one that also sticks in my mind......I managed to stand it for 18 months before being able to move out.

Invite her in for a cup of tea. Old ladies love tea. She's probably just bored and has no friends. Poor old lady :( I used to do community service when I was doing my A-Levels (it was compulsory. I am not a villain :ninja: ) and I used to go and help an old lady with her garden and stuff. She hated me at first and used to tell me I left her garden messier than when I started. She even complained to my school about me! MEAN! Her tune changed once I started sticking around after and having tea with her. I got to know her really well in the end and kept going after I had finished my A-Levels for about 6 months until I moved away from Reading. Her family even invited me to her funeral a few years later, god rest her soul. Work IT is really annoying me today though. I literally have no systems and the cretins in Namibia or wherever the hell our support team is won't fix it because they have to raise an "incident" which has a 24 hour SLA. FML! I have work to do you bellends.

To me, its tantamount to bullying. I would probably pull her to side and FIRMLY but fairly say as much to her. I suspect the more you take it, the more she'll dish it out. That said, it's easy for me to type this in. I'm not living it first hand.....
