The only reason the queue is that long in the first place is because wankers like you stop the traffic from flowing. The signs that say lane closes in 2miles and then more importantly MERGE IN TURN, generally give you the hint.

That jolly chap has the same right as everyone else to use the lane its just they feel some sort of embarrassment or moral obligation to sit in the inside lane for an hour. If everyone uses both lanes and people merge in turn as per the signs then everything would run really smoothly like it does in Germany. The concertina effect comes from some grumpy fcuk in the inside lane trying to block someone from merging and everyone has to slam on the brakes!

True... but the connection they chose 'micro usb' is the world's shittiest connection and even then there is no consistency of pin usage. See Samsung v HTCs disagreement over which pins to stuck the video output on.

At least historically no matter what apple product you bought you knew that it would just work.

They issue was never apples it was that all product suppliers were never that interested in producing swappable connectors and software that adapts to different operating systems.

USB connection is a universal standard. Apple have their own proprietary standard. Which they are about to change. So from 30 pin to 19 pin it is. Screw all your previous iPhones and iPads. You must comply and upgrade. Or buy some wanky Apple over priced adaptor. USB connectivity has no specific 'video' connection. Power, ground and two lots of data (+ and -).

Its not designed to speed up the flow at all as the same amount of cars still have to pass through the gap. Its designed to use the whole road and instead of blocking junctions and roundabouts for 8 miles its all packed into 4.

I have and will do again driven passed over 2 miles of traffic to then just put my indicator on and someone let's me in. If you don't want me to do that use both lanes and merge in turn

I've got no qualms about doing the same to police. I've sounded my horn at traffic police for cutting me up at a roundabout. Mrs gbob was quite embarrassed but I wasn't.

The thing about how many cars going through the cones is correct, but the concertina effect from blocking holds up further. How many times have you sat stationary in traffic then when it starts to move theres nothing there. It's because of the blockers.

Also, if the jam is twice as long, because of those pricks, then it starts to effect junctions, slip roads, up onto roundabouts and then other roads are blocked unnecessarily.

Fine if you wish to wait an extra 20mins in the inside lane to pretend you have the moral high ground, but thats your choice. Don't stop me making my choice not to wait.
