It wasn't just 'them' tbh   I'm not usually anti Auntie; but I'm struggling to convey my distaste at how they portrayed that in such a single sided manner.   Perhaps it'll help and there's another agenda, who knows? However the BBC ignoring everything other than a pro McCann light really ground my gears.

I couldn't bring myself to watch it... They are truly hideous individuals (that took a lot of edits to remove the swear words) to put themselves before allowing the police to find their child. Surely they should now be charged with perjury. How they were never charged with neglect is beyond me. I am not a physically agressive person, but if I ever met them they would walk away in pain.

I can't agree. Yes they left their three children in an apartment on their own while they went out for a meal. That in itself is unforgivable and there is no way Oliver would be left without supervision under any circumstances.

I am no fan of the McCanns for the above reason however. They have lost their three year old child and nothing in the world can hurt more than that. They have no idea what happened to her and whether she is alive or not and that must be killing them. A day will not go by without them regretting their neglect and I am sure the last six years have been a tough enough sentence for them both.

Their campaign has not only bought about new evidence but heightened the public awareness that this sort of thing happens and if that has stopped parents making the same mistake they did, that has to be a good thing. We will never know how many abductions this news story has foiled due to increased parental awareness but I am sure it has had an impact.

The real targets for hate here are the vile men who perpetrate such evil on our children.

I will get off my soap box now.

There was an interesting debate on LBC yesterday asking why, when there are 144 children on the missing list (strangely many with Asian names), are the McCann's getting so much attention?  I understand that in the light of new evidence the police felt there was reason to re-open the case but many felt all missing kids should warrant this attention.

I understand all that, and for the torture of losing Maddy I have sympathy, but if they had been 'normal' people with a normal job would they have been given such an easy time by the press. Needless to say if they had been jobless and living in a tough council estate their situation would be very different. I am not a parent, not for the lack of desire or trying I might add, but I cannot condone what they have done and find the 'lies' that shaped the initial investigation contemptable. There is undoubtedly a lot of good that has come out of the situation for other people - but the costs for this secondary investigation should be charged to the McCanns. They are the cause!

Just eaten a bag of salted peanuts and now need a drink. The only thing i have is a bottle of wine, even the taps say do not drink. And I don't have a glass so its straight out the bottle.

On the plus side, yes that is Rachel Riley :)

I hate playing on the Xbox and not having the TV on in the background. I get bored and fidgety if I'm only doing 1 thing at a time!

fcuk off , what a load off sh*t, I have left my kids in a hotel room fast asleep and nipped up every half hour to see all is ok . It's what millons of responsible parents do every day, hundreds and thousands do it and so may you at some time with no problems whatsoever ever. Oh sorry every parent watches the kids ever second don't they, they never leave them playing in the garden while they do a few jobs for example, that kid could have been taken through the window with the mum and dad watching tv in the other room if someone wanted it . FFS good plan, blame the parents that some sick bastard wanted a youngster for what ever reason. Oh and I think they had plenty of money without this sh*t. I can't believe all the fcuking brilliant, superb out of his word parents that blame them for some fcuking nutter who could have got a kid any time any place and one of yours no matter how good or carefull you think you are as parents. rant over

Valid points, but still the bit that galls me the most is the 'lies' over time frames. If they had been honest from the outset, for which there appears to be considerable evidence to disprove their 30 minute checks, then the investigation may have been more fruitful at a time when it could have had an impact.

30min checks are reasonable, but 3hrs I feel is not. But that is my opinion as a non-parent that would give anything to be one.

That was my late night slightly drunken rant, and yes i agree with what you say, not followed it so don't know about times. I have left kids in a locked hotel room and been just down the corridor and the kids would have been older. And checked regular, I would not leave the building the kids are in and not at that age. But rightly or wrongly that was done. For me that's not the issue, like I say you could be in your hotel with friends all having a laugh booze flowing music on and someone could take a kid through the bedroom window and you may not know for hours.three hours is obviously way to long, but sh*t happens you get chatting your a bit drunk and time flys and you think the kids are fast asleep it's not good but it's not the reason the kid was taken.you could check ever 10 mins and as you leave to go next door in they come and take the kid. I don't blame the parents

Conversations that start "I'm not going to make an issue out of this but..."

I think it even pips "No offence meant but..." and "Don't take this the wrong way but..."
