Overpaid my mortgage since I got it. Phoned up a couple of months ago to the max, only slightly more (hsbc so you can only overpay by 20% of the monthly payment).
Noticed that my monthly payment had actually gone down slightly but the interest deductions had stayed the same so effectively I'm now paying less off my capital.
Phoned them and apparently they recalculate my monthly payment when changing so I am paying the max but my minimum charge was lower therefore the overpay was lower. Had I known this I wouldn't have changed anything as the £11 less a month I'm now paying has added 2 years back onto the mortgage.
It's with the complaints department. Kicking myself for getting into a 5 year fixed, rekon I could have had the whole thing payed off in 8-10 if there was no overpayment restrictions

Also, my "screensaver" reverts back to a Samsung standard when an app crashes.

Cheeky bastards. Have the option with my Natwest mortgage and about to start overpaying myself. Not aware of a similar caveat, but will check. If not I will just bank the money and put it in just before the end of the fixed period to try and knock down the LTV further.Overpaid my mortgage since I got it. right its been a while after I was told to clam down. bottled water, plastic forks, contactless payment, business cards, Bluetooth, vettle, coolant leaks, evaporating money, posits notes with no sticky, power transformers, Christmas hats. st. Patricks day, that cop show set in the Yorkshire dales, customs and UPS... actually ill expand on that. I have been arguing with UPS over the value of an item I am help bring into the county in a work capacity. They are damaged goods and subject to an insurance Wight off. They are special items that we are bringing in for an expert to value.
customs/ups: We have held your package, you need to pay import duty, what is it worth. Us: We don't know (reasons given) customs/ups: what is the value Us: We don't know customs/ups: Just give us a nominal Us: USD1 to register interest in the item customs/ups: that's not good enough, what is the value Us: We don't know customs/ups: you need to give us a value, oh by the way we are charging storage fees Us: We don't know, what do we need to do. customs/ups: as you are not telling us we will send the packed back to sender for $800.
(me: ) Us: WE DONT KNOW! so for 7 days this happened, we have sorted it now but its far from a perfect arrangement, next time we will just stick dildos R us on the box and no one will bat an eye lid.
I have head-butted my desk more times this last week then I think I ever had

Now sorted by speaking to a man that can actually do things and action it immediately.
I'm not overpaying by 20% of my original mortgage (which is actually more than 20% of the current recalculated but he's authorised it with no early repayment fees).
This has knocked another 3 years and 5 months off my mortgage. Bringing it down too a 19 years and 9 month mortgage from 30 years.
Can't wait until my fixed is over!
Edit: at the end of the call when I was already very happy he said they would also put £50 into my account to cover any calls I'd had to make.

The internal IT services team of my current employer - a Major Indian IT Services Company - They brought the company I worked for, a couple of years ago, so I didn't join them by choice and I only stay to support my immediate colleagues and because they keep paying me, (mostly on time)...
Their internal IT services team, (India based), is so bad, that they really need outsourcing to any other IT Services Provider...
Actually, they may already be working directly for our competitiors, as their entire role seems to be to stop the business from working.
