Good Evening All.

With not wanting to start a fresh thread with what i hope will be quick answer/question/fix (fingers crossed), i thought that i would post this query here and just hope someone in the know sees it.

Please could anyone tell me why i am unable to copy and paste anything in to the forum's reply box? It's just simple text i am trying to paste in, it pastes elsewhere, just not using this forum.

Hope someone can help...

..icey

IE supports an onpaste event, which makes it easy to block. I don't know why anyone would do that though. Using a different browser is probably a good call for a plethora of reasons.

Good Evening Good Sir.

Thank you very much for your kind 'welcome back' and help.

I hope that you are well. I've just had a nerve root block injection done this morning on my lower spine to potentially free the sciatic nerve, so am feeling a little battered and bruised but, hopefully, will feel a little better tomorrow and recover fully over the next six weeks.

Best regards and warm wishes...

Hello My Friend :)

Thank you very much for your advice. I had automatically made my mind up that it was either a forum problem or caused by my incompetence (stupidity) with technology.

I should be able to get this sorted out now (phew!)

Warm wishes and many thanks...

Hello Sir :)

Thank you very much indeed. I have 'Edge', so will try logging-on with that when i need to copy and paste then. Rather annoying as i like (or am used to) the explorer 'look' and if there's one! thing i really hate and that's 'change' (especially enforced change).

Many many thanks. a great deal of growing frustration averted there.

The very best of regards...

Hello there.

Thank you very much for taking the time and the trouble to explain and offer recommendations.

I think that i will stick with IE 11 but swap-over when i need to, for bar this experience, i am happy with every thing else.

Kind regards...

All browsers support that functionality. We use it on some of our internal web applications to prevent (or at least make it harder) for some of the fcuktards that work for us to copy and paste sensitive customer data to places it shouldn't be.

I have to turn off the fancy editor (top left switch looking button, above the BOLD button) otherwise it won't paste for me.

Good Morning ;)

Does it? Oh darn and blast, this is not going to be a simple fix after all then but then, when was anything simple when it comes to vx's lol (i know this is not a vx related problem, i offer myself and my ownership as a tenuous link....on a side note, it's our 13 year anniversary soon, i'll have to get her a present lol).

Thank you for your input Imnotworthy

Regards and wishes...

you can post smilies, you just have to learn the 'codes'  is ": lol :" without the spaces in between the ":"  either side, " thumbsup " is simply thumbs up without a space between the thumbs and the up and an extra space either side of the word  ;)

Hellooo My Friend.   Click BBCode Mode?..Ok, that's absolutely double-dutch to me but i'll go and have a look.   Thank you very much indeed for taking the time and the trouble to help good sir.     Hoping all's well chez jules...   ..icey :grouphug:

Edit Add... Good man that works, i don't like the look of it all after doing so but hey-ho, at least it gets around the problem when i need to copy and paste, which is seldom but a must at times.

Thank you a million times over.

Glol...thinking of if you'd said that eleven years ago when i was the smilie king (or, most heavy user at least). I tend to know those i use the most from the keyboard input now but do, rather annoyingly, find myself wondering around the smilie picture list sometimes (with ever decreasing patience).

Life with no smilies at all....Brrrrrr...don't bear thinking about

Good Afternoon Mr Frog :)

Oh she is indeed still with me, it's our anniversary soon. She's presently in storage, sitting out the cold, wet, ice and salt but will be returning in May next year.
