Neurotic wailing women... Sadly I lack the capacity to tell them to fcuk off, so when one's ex girlfriend phones up for a chat and then asks "can you sort the cambelt on my car while I'm away?" I answer No, but then after 10 minutes of continual verbal abuse from the other end of the phone line, I give up and say I'll resolve it for her. So in a way I'm pissed off with myself for being a softy, and just liking a quiet life. ...and while I'm on the subject, her who I've whinged about before (not mentioning names as she may read this forum) has been going off on one on a regular basis this week. How I'd like to do this to the both of them: :beat: :9mm: :beat: :flame: :saw: Also, Dentists. Ours always says to see the hygenist after seeing him to the point that on my appointment next week I'm now seeing the hygenist before seeing the dentist. Thats another £40 then.

oh god its me posting on this topic again. Anyone would think I had issues. Anyway we've got the radio on at work and without fail the bloody Kooks come on 3 times a day with "She Moves In Her Own Way". What a load of arse. I hate music like this as its got no get up and go. Its almost worse than Ray Lamontagne. When he comes on 3 times a day I actually go turn the radio off for 5 minutes. Actually just remembered I drove into work this am listening to a Manowar Live album so maybe I do have issues after all... Can't think what those might be! :D

Muslims who scour the earth looking for things to take offense at. Better to turn that evergy to raise living standards in muslim countries, and share out some of that oil wealth.

rant Too damn right PB. I fully agree with this one. The majority of them seem to want something to be upset about and blame us in the west for their woes. You know I used to naively think that all the races in the world could get on, but recently with all the stuff going on with the pope offending shitloads of them by quoting someone who has been dead for 400 years, makes you just realise that they're really very up themselves. Seems to me they just want any excuse to hate the west. The sooner we stop relying on their oil the better as then they can go back to the dark ages they belong in. Grrr.. rant

the fact that you can't get anything done to a house unless you use tradespeople who are specifically recommended. if you use a company from the yellow pages you end up with no plaster left on the lower ground floor walls of your house with no indication of when the works will be completed. useless cnuts who have no understanding of contract, workmanship or professionalism. everything that is fcuking wrong with the construction industry in this country summed up in only £1400 worth of work. useless lazy cnuts who have fallen off the bottom of the employment ladder. oh and before anyone says it, regulatory body my @rse! cnuts cnuts cnuts cnuts cnuts cnuts cnuts cnuts cnuts cnuts cnuts cnuts cnuts cnuts cnuts cnuts cnuts cnuts cnuts cnuts cnuts cnuts cnuts cnuts cnuts cnuts cnuts

:( I guess there is little to no pride left in an honest day's work for an honest day's pay. I take great pride and recieve great satisfaction in looking after my customers but then i suppose that is because i own the business. I'v purposefully kept the business small in all these years that i could have expanded, purely because i won't employ anyone again (for the reasons you mention above.) It's a sad indication of how society is but everyone seems to want money for nothing :beat: It gets my back up whenever something goes wrong (normally medically) and those closest to the injured party are more bothered about claiming against those they hold responcible than they are about caring for the injured party. Every other advert on television seems to be about claiming against someone or a company. It's for that reason that i have a million pound public liability insurance cover (that and it's a legal requirement to now, thus proving my point.) There is only one way to get a good job done...and that's to do it yourself thumbsup

my Dad did the same Icey. he ended up with a massive house, a porsche and being able to afford to send all four of his kids to uni. he started with nothing. his parents were very poor* :(

just gets me that there are scum that want paying for no outlay of effort themselves. i have talked it over with my colleagues and have come to a solution. such is the benefit of working in the construction industry at the brains end. means you know exactly haw to fcuk someone and still get the job done if necessary thumbsup

edit: *they still worked well past their retirement age to get him on the right track though

Thinking you have your "reserve" tinnies left in the fridge, going down for them (late on) and finding out your wife has supped them. "I thought you had left them for me". My arse. :P

got a new one that really bugs me... Had my 6 month review yesterday - now bare in mind that I am pretty much single handedly running the company as the md likes to go out and visit customers and leaves me in charge. Also note that because everyone else here is a technophobe, I set up all our new accounts system, new pcs, I also do all the product marketing, website, sell lots of products over the phone etc etc. Been here 6 months and do shitloads of stuff so I'm expecting a nice payrise. What do I get? 10 fcuking percent. Note that I'm paid peanuts anyway so an extra 10% means diddly squat. I ask for more and the MD has the balls to say that my equal at the company next door (our sister company) is still paid what I was on previously so I shouldn't expect anymore as "he is more qualified" to do the job? More qualified? The guys an ex mechanic and is a great guy but he doesn't have to do his companies accounts as well as his techie sales job. Then the boss continues "you need to take a long term view with this company. I started 20 years ago in the stores and now I'm MD of this bit blah blah". Well in 20 fcuking years I'm going to be president of the fcuking parent company and then I'm going to fire your ass! And now Madam (her who I've mentioned before) is going psycho at me and just tried to dob me in with the boss. Oh todays going to be fun... :beat: Might not be online this pm as I'll probably be in prison after killing everyone here with my stapler.

I'm very tempted to believe me! Sadly I took this job as I was made redundant late last year and then took a couple of temp jobs so my CV shows me as moving around a lot. I think the thing that bugs me is the whole experience vs qualifications thing. The fact that my boss has never worked outside of this company for 20 years means that he has no idea what a degree in automotive engineering means, nor the fact I've worked as a techie sales engineer in various different industries in the last 5 years means nothing to him. I have pointed out that I am hands on as I do all my own car servicing (useful when you consider we're in the automotive tools industry) but it seems he thinks an ex grease monkey is worth more I was prepared to take squat pay for 6 months to demonstrate how useful I could be but I'm not a happy bunny about a mere 10%. I did push for 50% extra as we're a growing company and I have improved lots of things around here (and showed him the evidence too), but he wouldn't even compromise. Just realised something else. After a long chat discussing where we see the company going (new premises, our own computer network, warehouse etc all within the next year) he said he trusts me enough to let me take care of all that side of things and then asked what salary I expected as a result in about 2 years time. So I said close to twice what I'm on now (before the 10%) as that level of responsibility doesn't come cheap. His face said it all. Not a hope in hell... :( Right I have decided its time to start job hunting. I'm good at that! I need more money and I'm not going to earn it here. Despite my bosses bollocks about "lots of opportunities here in the long term" and "we look after our own in this company". Yeah whatever...
