I agree with a lot of that.

Latest was Catherine Deneuve. Said men should be allowed to 'hit on' women. It was clear what she meant, that men are allowed to make a pass, not that they can hit them. She's not a native English speaker - why the big fake outrage?

...I know i'm contradicting myself when I say this but the constant feeling that white men are all monsters out raping co workers and shouting racist abuse at strangers and LGBT has gone far enough.

I think you'll find that they've added a few more letters onto LGBT now, and I'm sure they'll keep adding more and more until they run out of letters, or maybe they'll start doubling up. The other day I heard the term "cisgender" for the first time, maybe I was just in the dark (ooops, sorry, racist against light there) but here's what the Oxford dictionary has;

"Denoting or relating to a person whose sense of personal identity and gender corresponds with their birth sex."

Right, erm, soooo... someone normal then?  Did that need a term?  And before anyone gets on their high horse about me saying that anyone non-cisgender isn't normal, here's another OED definition;

"Conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected."

So yes, I'll stand by that statement and I still couldn't give a toss if you're LGBTRGECN...  I have no negative feelings against anyone regardless of whatever group they fit in sexually, racially or anything else.  Though I do hate footballers, they're the exception.

My local council just spent millions building a great cycle lane down a very busy stretch of road, it's huge at around 8 foot wide so users are no where near the road or pavement and yet some cyclists still ride on the road, why on earth would they do that?! It's perfectly smooth and wide so why put yourself at danger and annoy road users!!!

I do a lot of cycling and I want to stay as far away from cars as i can! I think the lycra clad idiots do it just because they can.... I always make a point of dropping the diesel down and giving them a good smoke screen as i overtake.   :)

Ordered some SC oil from the states. Ebay sent it via their global shipping program. Got an email to say it had been delivered, while I was in. Opened a case but I don't get a refund because the tracking says delivered. They won't tell me which company did the delivering.

Sent a snotty email to ebay and they reversed their decision and fully refunded me.

Ordered some more from a UK company which was £32 for a 4oZ bottle.

That and the original one both turned up on Saturday. It's now not on my tits.

Being made out to be an awful person because i'm a young, working class white man. Apparently everyone in the world is hard done by apart from this demographic.

I went to the cinema the other day and there was a 5 minute advert starring some very high profile celebrities campaigning against domestic abuse (fair enough) but it was exclusively for abuse against women as if men couldn't possibly be subject to domestic abuse... My sister even said it was ridiculous. It's all come about because of Harvey Weinstein, his abuse of power is awful and they should throw the book at him but it's hardly relevant to the vast majority of men is it, well certainly not in my circle!

Then there's the recent click-bait, argument inducing drivel the BBC have been posting on their social media pages. One of the most recent stories was about a young girl that had been called "honey" in a patronising manor, okay it's rude but it's not BBC newsworthy and we don't need to have a "movement" because of it. Likewise the H&M hoodie gate, yes in hindsight it was probably a bit of a cock up to put a young black boy in a hoodie that says "little monkey" but it shouldn't even be a thing, I would never look at that image and put the 2 together, I always call my niece a little monkey and I would if she was black, that's just what you call kids when they're being mischievous!

Same with the Lewis Hamilton thing, i'm a massive fan of his for the incredible talent he has when driving a car. I don't really care what he does out of Formula 1 but I think he's a very good ambassador for the sport and the UK as a whole yet people love to beat him given the slightest chance, he had a huge social media following, thousands of posts that were genuine messages of thanks to fans and also a huge amount of charity work not to mention some great sporting moments that will go down in history. All of it deleted because he told a family member "boys don't wear dresses" in jest in his own home. It's a fcuking joke and a crying shame that we let these sad trolls ruin things for the sensible, level headed people in the world. I bet the trans / cross dressing community weren't offended as they would know it wasn't said in a derogatory manor and it wasn't supposed to cause offence.

I'm sick of feeling like we're treading on egg shells the whole time, we all have an opinion and you're never going to please everyone, I just wish people could make their own choices and be secure enough to not be offended by the most minor comments. I know i'm contradicting myself when I say this but the constant feeling that white men are all monsters out raping co workers and shouting racist abuse at strangers and LGBT has gone far enough.

The problem with 'offence' is that it's in the eye/ear of the beholder, so anyone can be offended about anything, and apparently we ahave a lot of political correctness zealots about.  So, if you say something innocently and someone interprets it as being recist for example, you can be prosecuted. At work someone complained to senior management about something I said in an email, she demanded an apology and I was 'advised' by management to give one.  I had no problem with giving an apology because if someone needs one, thats fine I'm happy to give them what they want, even though it's totally insincere.  Anyway, because I'm quite good with words I gave an apology which reading between the lines was not - I can't tell you how sorry I am (because I'm not).  She wasn't happy with that and wanted a face to face apology.  That didn't happen but if it had I would simply have said "I don't apologise, that's my opinion and I'm entitled to hold it."

Swapping gas and electricity suppliers.

All was going well until this morning, when I got an email from the new provider asking me to confirm my unique MPAS and MPRN numbers.

So looking on my paper bills, no info about this on either the gas of elec bill from either provider. So I logged on inline, no info on the online bills either. So I search the suppliers website, no info at all. Then it took 2 minutes to find their "secreted"/hidden contact numbers, only to find that I'd have to pay for the liberty of expensive 0345 numbers just to find out my own bloody meter info. Basically 30 minutes of my life lost and I still have no answers.

Yesterday I got rung up by one of the old suppliers who wasted another 3 minutes of my life begging me to stay with the robbing bastards, then when I'd finally got it through his impervious skin that I was definitely 100% no quibbles swapping suppliers he told me I'd have to submit my meter readings on the 14th. I was just about to tell him I'd be unable to do that cos Im away skiing for a couple of weeks and the fooking phone line dropped. I waited 2 mins for him to ring back, but of course he didn't. I rung 1471 to try myself to get back to him, but of course no result as it came from a call centre.

Sheesh, stuff like this makes me want to go and join the Armish - they have some sound principles!

Sort of on the same vein as Nev, I'm with Scottish Power and my fixed price tariff is coming to an end at the end of this month. The new tariff they offered me would be 40% more expensive, SP said they couldn't do any better, so I decided to call USwitch. They pointed me towards a tariff on their site which they thought would fit me, which was marginally more expensive than the tariff I'm on by - SCOTTISH bleeding POWER. USwitch said as I was already a SP customer I would have to go through SP. SP said no I would have to go through US as it was a tariff exclusive to US. Eventually got the switch done by using the US app on my tablet - ie not involving humans.

There are over 130 companies selling electricity/gas on the US site all with different tariffs. Some are much more expensive than others. They all can't be producing electricity/gas so they're just selling it on. It just seems like a method to confuse the consumer.

I was also told by SP that the Daily Standing Charge was to cover the cost of their equipment on my property ie the meter. So am I within my rights to charge them rent for the space it takes up?

Also, since having a smart meter fitted the billing of my electricity has gone completely to cock to the point where even SP can't understand it. I don't know whether I'm being over charged or what. It's a complete and utter mess!

Having a smart meter fitted limits the amount of tariffs/companies you can choose from if you want to change supplier
