Always stuffing too many sheets of paper through the shredder and jamming it. Why do I ALWAYS do it????
Hell yeah, thats a right PITA.
and too boot.
Comparison sites....thanks for the cheap electricity.
I spend quite some time trying to find a telephone number for scottishpower on their website...
Then 20 mins on hold before being told 'the other party has hung up'
Then another 20 mins before a 'somebody' answered.
Finally they have given me back the £150 they owe me in overpayments that they have sat in their account not mine.

And then the damn things break after jamming it another 2 times. Then all the bits get all over the floor, and it makes a mess. Then when going to the recycling I stumble over spilling shreddings and a few make their way into my turbo ear :S ... I can't get them out until they blow out.
Damn it.

Why not?Owning a VX and not being able to drive it
Calling a company, and being asked 175 'security questions' by an automated thingy first. Then you get through to a person, and they ask you all the same questions 'to get your account up'. Well wtf was all that automated nonsense for then?
Knowing your question isn't going to be covered by any of the options menus, but having to go through several of them - continually pressing the number for 'any other query'
I've realised quite a lot of the tension in my life is caused by call centres I called Wessex Water today, and the phone was answered by a person after one ring Cannot tell you what a joy that was - isn't it sad that that's a rarety (apart from the fact that it's sad I got excited by it )

Because I don't have any free time! ! I am still working now, and feel guilty because I am reading the forums and not working but lab reports are really not that interesting. Last time I drove my VX was when I got it out to wash it (thats depressing alone!) which was over 3 weeks ago now. I have since started it and rolled it backwards & forwards as I left the handbrake on when I parked up I can't see any time in the near future when I am going to get time to go for a drive eitherWhy not?
Security questions are fine, but why do they always start with "are you the account holder"... "No, I am a complete stranger who decided to ring up and see how much you have messed up someone else's account, but have suddenly come over all self conscious so decided to fess up and not go through with impersonating someone" What kind of question is that, and then when you answer them, as your say, they spend the next 4 days forcing you to prove it by asking you the 6th, 1st and 9th letters of your favourite teachers pets maiden nameCalling a company, and being asked 175 'security questions' by an automated thingy first. Then you get through to a person, and they ask you all the same questions 'to get your account up'. Well wtf was all that automated nonsense for then?

The phone being answered instantly by a real person is a momentous occasion, and the moment should truly be savoured! Call centres are spawn of all evilI've realised quite a lot of the tension in my life is caused by call centres I called Wessex Water today, and the phone was answered by a person after one ring Cannot tell you what a joy that was - isn't it sad that that's a rarety (apart from the fact that it's sad I got excited by it )
Hope the house move is nearly over with now! That should definitely elevate some tension

What happens normally is those newbies that have found the answers to the 'usual' questions are enthusiastic about sharing that new found knowledge with other newbies asking that same question as they recently did. Once that newbie who has had their question answered sees another asking the same one, they enthusiastically want to share it (either because it's nice to be nice or just to boost their own ego or standing in the vx community..it matters not which as the result is the same). Again the newest informed will recognise when an answer comes up that they can answer and the whole cycle continues in a selfreplicating answering system.
We as older members (respectfully) should just keep out of the cycle if we find it annoying. For in my very humble opinion, over the years just about every question has been asked and replied to, if we expect a blanket search to be done without questions, then there would be nothing on the forum but 'off topic' chitchat (whilst it's my place of choice, it's nice to have and see others travel the same road of discovery as i/we did originally).
No disrespect intended or cast upon your valued opinion though my friend

Sometimes it's just nice to chat and get ones post count started i suppose. So i'd imagine we were all as annoying to those that had been here a while when we first started. For sure it can get a little tedious and i'm far from being a saint myself but try to put myself in the shoes of others before i give up on them (which once i do, i do completely).

If its any tiny consolation i've had to spend the entire day shopping (again) for living room curtains, which was fun. The only difference is today i lost the will to live and just bought a pair that will suffice, then the dearest bloody pole on the planet (so it must be good...) So bang goes my nice day of doing sweet f.a. tomorrow!
Best i warn you all now, if i post atall tomorrow it might be best ignored as me & DIY dont really get on so it's possible i may just bite the head off the first person wanting to buy a Vx in exchange for the Tesco's trolley they have robed from the local supermarket.
