No need to remove the clam. Mine was fitted to the car when it was on the ramps. 1/2 hour job at the most.
Remove front section of wheel arch liners
Mark holes
Drill holes
Fix and bolt outer part of splitter (do not fully tighten)
Fix and bolt remaining bolts.
Adjust splitter and tighten all fixings
Replace front section of wheel arch liners
Job done

Rivnuts? It might be possible to fit with the clam in place. You can get access to the outer fixings through the headlamp recess or by removing the wheelarch liner. The problem will be securing the splitter at the centre, behind the no. plate. Its a very tight squeeze but you may be able to reach from the headlamp area.
If not, it took me 1.5 hrs to remove and 2 hrs to refit the clam.

Took it out for the first time on Saturday. I didn't expect to notice much difference running at standard ride height, but the increase in front downforce is pretty apparent at motorway speeds.Have you noticed any improvement in the handling?
When travelling in a straight line, my NA was a little jittery at speed over small bumps and surface changes. The front splitters and suspension on my VXT improved this, but it always felt a little oversprung on very small bumps - as though the dampers were too soft over the first inch of travel. The Astra splitter seems to tie the front of the car down a little better. Feels like each side has a 20-30kg weight over the wheel arch, and helps the damper to counter-act the spring on very small bumps.
I've not tried out the handling properly yet, but even at 8 or 9/10ths on motorway slips, I could feel the car pivot a little forward of it's usual position. (The Craner Curves must have been pretty scarey with that mahoosive splitter and no rear wing John!! )
As Thorney said earlier, I'll need to work on the rear downforce to get an ideal balance. But the splitter should help me get more grip from the 205 front tyres on low to medium speed bends. Just need to practice catching the tailslides at 100mph until I can sort the rear

Can that be right???? Might need some bigger bolts then. Waiting for some to be delivered and will fit this weekend.

Totally subjective, but it does feel more stable at the front. Fixings shouldn't be a problem though. Any increase in downforce will be a result of the air flowing over and under the car, so the splitter will not bear that load. Just as long as it stays attached at high speed. Mine is fineFeels like each side has a 20-30kg weight over the wheel arch, and helps the damper to counter-act the spring on very small bumps.
