Thing is that I know I'd want the car. It's the pick axe through the spinal column I'd get when it was discovered I'd bought a second one that I don't want.

It's already been discussed and apparently it was decided that I'm wrong and don't need a spare.

It's not a spare, it's a backup. You'd hate it anyway Jim. It's a turbo - therefore has a lump of pig iron in the boot and doesn't handle, and it's not orange.

I've managed to px my VXT in for a New S2000 - they gave me £17,000 for it !!!  thumbsup (their comments were "absolutely beautiful car you have there")

...but I've got from now to the end of September to sell it for a bit more if I can.

Why bother selling for the same privately? If a garage is prepared to give you £17,000 it's less hassle to trade it in!

Because you should be able to negotiate a better deal on the new car if you have no Part-ex.

It's also galling to see the same car on the forecourt the following day with a sticker price of about £2500 over what you got paid for it.

That's not necessarily true. Most garages make a good profit on secondhand cars so they're keen to buy them. If they have given you a good price for your car, you will almost certainly not be getting as much discount off the one you're buying from them.

Very true! ;)

I might just be able to wangle a front lip spoiler and rear wing out of them if I present cash rather than another car to sell on!!

My new car has been delivered at the dealer and is sitting there waiting for me!!!....so if anyone is thinking about buying my VXT, let me know quick. Otherwise the dirty dealer is going to be getting it  :(

...so you could be paying £17,000 to buy it from me or you could wait and buy the same car from the dealer for £19,500 !!

Call Paul on 07932 780 710 ( http://www.karmamedia.co.uk/vxt )

Apparently I'm not allowed to drive my new car away from the dealer because it's on a 55 plate! I have to get it picked up and delivered straight into my garage because the new plates are not allowed to be visible on the road - is that right?
