You may remember that I posted in early June that I'd been rear-ended. Not a huge impact but enough to crack the rear clam in a couple of places, but most of the damage was inside the clam, specifically to the floor of the boot which had borne the brunt of the collision as it was the same height as the other driver's front bumper. I got the usual 2 estimates - One from Plans for a repair job and the other from Lance Owen who would only quote for a replacement clam. Based on a visit to the repair shop, a chat with the guys there, and a look at what they could do, I was happy to go the repair route - and so was the other guy's insurance company as Plans estimate was half that of Lance Owen. I picked up the car late Thursday afternoon from Plans and I have to say I'm over the moon with the work done. In fact that's a gross understatement - I'm gobsmacked with the quality of the repair. I'd popped down to Plans the previous week and saw the clam before it was properly refitted. There is absolutely no way you could tell - either externally or internally - that it's been repaired. I haven't a clue how they've done it but it's a superb job. If anyone needs bodywork repaired on a VX these are the guys to see. I'd already booked my VXR with Plans for its 1st service and a few other bits. Plans were able to combine all the work which was very handy for me. So, in addition to the repairs I had: The enhanced service with track prep Fit wheel bearing bolt kit (which Lotus didn't do!) Gearbox breather mod Milltek Mintex 1144 pads Geo set-up I am now a very happy bunny! :D :D :D :D :D :D All in all excellent service by a bunch of very nice people who know what they're doing, take good care of your pride and joy, and don't charge an arm and a leg. thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup And if you haven't already fitted Mintex 1144s then do it now. What an improvement! And the Milltek is great too and VERY LOUD at full tilt. Well, it's very loud inside the car. God alone knows what it must sound like if you're driving the car behind

Great news. Glad it's all worked out ok and that you're so pleased with the results. You might have seen my car there. The assessors finally got their asses there on Thurday and have also agreed repair rather than replacement. I'm also getting a couple of other bits sorted whilst it's there. chinky chinky

I did see a blue VX there which must have been yours but I only saw the front. In fact, to be honest, I was so pleased to be getting mine back I didn't really take a lot of notice of anything else :beat: You'll be well chuffed with the results. If not the drinks are on me :drink:
